Howdy all,

So with the help of several dakkaites and their feedback I have a good basis for a 1k list to get my daemons started... that being said, I need to get my focus on my "ultimate" list. This way I don't buy random models that I never use (looking at you sanguinary guard). So here goes; my fatecrusher build

Tips? critiques? gripes? Tear this apart!

Ok, so for edits:
- Cut 1 screamer squad, banners from all my PB's, and 1 horror squad
- added a 5 man crusher squad w/ all the bells and whistles, giving me a total of 15 crushers

Edit 2:
- Cut crushers for fiends, more screamers.

Total is now 2465. What should i add?

Looks good. As far as buy lists go, you may want to invest in Fiends of Slaanesh as well. If you're going to go through the same curve after I did when playing with Daemons, Fiends are going to look very nice in a while. The same may well be true for Heralds of Tzeentch on a Chariot.

The Screamers are great, but I do wonder if 3x5 isn't an overinvestment when playing against no-mech hordes. You may want to consider something like Hounds of Khorne to supplement them. They work against trooptransports as well as massed Orks for instance.

I personally doubt whether the Khorneheralds would be the best use for HQ slots in a list like this. IMHO they don't add that much to the Crushers. Offcourse they make the units even harderhitting, but my point is that Crushers rarely need to hit even harder then they allready do.

Just to illustrate a variant of 2500p Fateweaver, this - or something like it - would be my list:,

I've heard a lot of good things about fiends, issue is they're so damn expensive and theirs nothing that really looks simular to create conversions. For example my plaguebearers I'll be converting out of VC zombies or ghouls; far cheaper lol

Id suggest dropping the PB's down to 5 and losing the icon. That alone will save you 195pts.

I'd prefer taking 3 MoN princes with fateweaver instead of MoT, but YMMV. If you do want to switch them to MoN youll have 115pts left from the PB changes, and Id also give all 3 of them grenades to take advantage of their init5. That leaves you with 100. Then you can take 2 more bloodcrushers for 1 squad, and add skulltaker and the herald to it, forming a killy deathstar.

For fiends I use the new seeker of slaneesh mounts on 40mm round bases, it works fine and Ive never had any complaints about it. 22$ for 5 isnt too expensive either.

Cloud of flies for 5 points is insanely priced for nurgle daemons, they should always be taken.

I would backup what Jabbdo suggests about dropping the plague bearers to 5 man squads and losing all their icon's just leaving them on the blood crushers. But my math says you only get 165pts .

I also think you would be beter off with tzeentch heralds over the khorne ones, just to give you some additional shooting. Switching both for loaded shooty tzeentch heralds gives you another 75 points. So for 240pts you could add in another 4 man crusher unit, and put breath and grenades on your nurgle daemon prince.

My bad, counted that you save 65 per PB squad

Tzeentch heralds are another good option, if you take them I'd drop the nurgle prince to another bolt prince, giving you another bolt and some more redundancy in your MC roles.

I like the list and I think it will perform fine but it just needs tweeking. Personally, If tou want the two Khorne heralds, thats fine, I would then upgrade the one with might, and blessing. Skulltaker is a good anti Nob, tyranid, T wolf threat. The 3 Plaguebearer squads, I would lower 2 of them to 5, drop the icons and ditch the third altogether. The one you drop I would replace with 5 bloodletters. This is only 5 more points than 5 plaguebearers, but it gives you an option to put the heralds with them to essentially have 3 crusher units.

The fiends would be nice, and you may want to consider beefing up one crusher squad, and dropping the other for fiends.

Now none of what I said is an absolute better choice.....its situational to scenerio and opponent.....but it adds a few "options" that can be left to your discretion up until the first turn. (bloodletters with heralds, herlads with crushers,) and the fiends would work nice with the crushers. Play test it out and see what you think.

Ohh....and I love screamers and considered taking 3 sets of five but settled on 2 sets of 6 as they perform nicely, are still low points, and it saves you 48 points. Trust me...if you cant get the job done with 12 screamers, 15 aint gonna cut it. Also at 6, its just a little boost if they have to charge zoanthropes, help on the charge vs orks, or some other task if the enemy does not have much for vehicles. Against other deamons, they work well tying up princes and thirsters with the 4++ to hold something in place for your Khorne elements to charge.

Interesting ideas... I may do a bit of a rework.

I really like 7 PB's per unit tho, but I do agree that freeing points for a third crusher unit might be better
