22/02/11 - 1-48 Combat and Gruntz Accessories from S6 Engineering

We are now licensed to produce accessories for 1-48 Combat. If you haven't already seen it, it's a very slick small squad skirmish system with some novel mechanics for overwatch and suppression. Rules are free to download so check it out! 1-48combat.com The first release is a set of counters.


We've also got the finalised set of templates and measuring tools for Gruntz. Publication of the 1st edition is imminent so keep your eye on their website www.gruntz.biz


06/01/11 - Blast/Supression Markers and Gruntz Blast Template


This week we've got a blast template for Gruntz incorporating 6", 4" 2" templates as well as a direction randomiser. As the photo shows, users can customize the look of the template by selectively removing the protective backing.

We are also offering a pack of 12 blast/supression markers, perfect for games such as Stargrunt or Epic which require tracking of units under fire.


30/12/10 - Airfield Set

Our last release for 2010 is a small-scale airfield. Contents are: two runway sections (5x27cm) that can be used separately or combined into a single 54cm runway.
Three service/storage bays for aircraft (7.5x6cm) which can accomodate an AI Marauder, an Epic Thunderhawk, Battletech Interface Shuttle, etc.
Two panels each with three grilled areas that can accomodate an AI Valkyrie, an Epic Thunderbolt, a Battletech VTOL, etc. These could also be used as solar collectors, missile silos, etc.
Combine one or more of these sets with our roads and building baseplates to create more complex airfield layouts.

To accompany our smallscale canals and roads we now have a matching bridge.



25/11/10 - Epic Scale Canals.





This week's release is another addition to our small scale scenery range which is proving popular with players of Epic, Battletech and Heavy Gear, amongst others.

Our 5cm canal system is a small-scale counterpart to our already popular gothic canal system for 28mm. Made from lasercut acrylic it's tough, easy to paint and easy to assemble.

The "water" is made from translucent acrylic and is offered in smoke grey or in flourescent green for that classic 40K-style. Being translucent it's easy to create many different effects by placing coloured or printed paper inserts underneath.


I would also like to remind everybody that Xmas is approaching rapidly. In addition to the usual postal delays that accompany the season, please remember that all of our products are made to order. While we will do our upmost to get as many orders out in time for Xmas as possible the earlier you can get them to us the better.

17/11/10 - Gruntz (www.gruntz.biz) is an exciting new 15mm wargame being developed by Robin Fitton with contributions from a number of people including the legendary Jon Tuffley of Ground Zero Games. (if you're in Reading on the 20th or 21st be sure to catch up with Robin at Warfare!)

At S6 Engineering we are very proud to announce that we are now the official supplier of counters and markers for Gruntz.

The first product specifically for Gruntz is a set of counters for marking various conditions. These counters are made from tough 3mm laser-cut acrylic. The set consists of 10x Waxed (Skull), 6x Supressed (Explosion), 5x Prone (Helmet) & 5x Scared Sh*tless (Arrow) Available in colour-coded opaque or in your choice of translucent flourescent colours.



11/11/10 - Extra Large Baseplate for the Small Scale Modular City Block System.


This jumbo baseplate is up to 25x13cm depending on how you assemble it. Ideal for those of you that have been asking for plates to accommodate larger buildings.

07/11/10 - Smoke / Vehicle Damage Marker
This is a simple marker to show popped smoke or vehicle damage. The twist is that the base can be assembled in two ways - with the small piece underneath it fits the 1" turret rings found on a lot of vehicles giving you a very neat way to mark destroyed vehicles.
There's also a pocket for a magnet so, if you've magnetized your vehicle turrets, it will snap positively into the turret ring.

04/11/10 - We're into our third month now! A big thank you again to all of you that have supported us over these last two months.

Postage Rates
Now that we've had two months sales I've reviewed the postage rates. After much javascript coding we now have thirteen rates.

This is to offer discounted shipping for small orders and accessory only orders.

There is also an increase in shipping rate for outside Europe/USA/Canada on larger orders. (sorry guys but the postage is killing me. Just for example - £160 worth of 15mm scenery is approx £30 to the USA but £50 to Australia! I can eat a bit of that on a large order but £30 over cost on the postage is just too much to absorb)

Note that while the shopping cart is smart enough to offer you only the valid options for your country it is not smart enough to select the correct postage option for you - make sure you pick the right one in order to get the discount!

I bet it would be easy to carve a notch out of a Warmachine base and glue it to the top of his counter base.You'd get a taller base, but would still have the bevel.

Quite-so. The 40mm "warmachine" base counts up to 8 (I'm told that's a useful number, don't actually play it myself) while the 40mm base I offered previously was only up to 6 (high enough for 40K).

10 really would have been better for the 50mm bases. An awful lot of cavalry solos have 10 boxes mounted, and it's not like you'll be using these for Warjacks ever...

How easy are the numbered disks to manipulate? Do they spin freely inside the base, or do you need to get a decent grip first?

1-10, not a problem.

The disk spin pretty free - they're only secured by a tiny magnet. (2mmX2mm)

Perhaps some smaller ones to replace damaged weapon results? Just a small magnet and a small smoke cloud?

Also, don't know if you can get a kind of cloudy plastic to use as the smoke?

Smoke gray or white would work well in this instance and a drawing of a shell with a cross out would do for weapon destroyed results and cross out an arrow for movement to be simple.

Here's a somewhat random request that seems like it would be right up your alley;

Pretty much all of the Privateer Press artwork for casters has them rings of runes around their hands or weapons as they cast magic. Here are Some good Examples. Colored discs with circles of runes around the outer edge made to fit inside the lip of Privateer's 30mm and 40mm bases and/or rings with the runes on them that you could put on the model proper around a hand or weapon would be cool. Just do note that if you do this each faction has it's own color of magic as well as a unique style of runes compared to the others.

I tried some frosted material but it looked pretty bad. The markers are more visible than it looks in the the photo - the flash makes them look more transparent.

For the bases is certainly possible (can you measure the inside diamters of the 30mm and 40mm for me?). The ones for the hands would need to be incredibly thin. Not sure where I'd find stiff, coloured plastic that thin. (acrylic certainly isn't available like that)

They have something similar in Infinity but they photoshop it onto the pictures of the miniatures. I was quite disappointed when I found out that you didn't get them with the miniatures.

A guy on the PP boards with a handy Caliper tells me the 50mm base has a 40mm inner circle, the 40mm base has a 31mm inner circle, and the 30mm base has a 23mm inner circle.

Any thoughts of making a junction piece to bridge the gap between 15mm and 28mm?

The 15mm pieces (the canals especially) might make handy "spurs" or "streams" to the main canal system. Though I am aware the paving slabs will probably be a different scale.
