Okay so I really want an apocalypse super-heavy with a high transport capacity for my Death Korps.
Gorgon:
More fluffy for DKoK
More transport capacity (50 25mm bases)
Model's better
Cheaper (pointswise)
Less firepower
Stormlord:
Less fluffy
Less transport capacity (40 25mm bases)
Model's good, but not as good
More points
More firepower
( BTW i don't care about price)

JB: I like the concept of a free Shrike roaming through the treetops of the jungle. I'm not sure that I like the idea of a real Shrike sitting on my couch eating my Skittles.
corpsesarefun: Thank god I missed be nice to shrike day.
greenskin lynn: because of all the skittles and soda, you basically live off sugar water, like some sort of freakish human-hummingbird hybrid. |

I'm not in the habit of paying £40 upwards for a book that isn't essential. I'll search for it online and maybe get back to you.

they really do different thing entirely; if you are just looking for a super heavy to transport large numbers from Point A to Point B on the Table in safety; get the gorgon.
If you want a Fighting Platform, that gets the models where you want them, then get the Storm lord.
Remember you cannot fire any of those troopers guns out of the Gorgon, so you are effectively paying 400+ points to take (up to) 50 troops out of the battle for at least 2 turns; at least you can Fire with half of the troops from the Storm lord.

I'm also in favour of the Stormlord. The Gorgon is a Lumbering transport with no fire ports and a rear AV of 10. It doesn't get you where you're going any faster, and just seems like a sitting duck. The Stormlord isn't much more expensive than the Gorgon, but in exchange it is less vulnerable to melee or being overwhelmed, and can serve as an insanely heavily armed bunker.

Gorgon, IMO, they're far cooler than storm lords and are much more rarer. Apoc isn't meant to be competitive, be fluffy, be creative, be slightly more unique.

I personally like the aesthetics of the Stormlord over the Gorgon. And it seems more like a siege weapon than the latter, a roving bunker designed to punch through enemy lines.

I will count this, if you acknowledge the fact that DKoK are meant to go in trenches, and that that is what the transport is going to do.

Stormlord for me. Apologies for hampering the comeback of the Gorgon, but it's transport capacity is only slightly worse, can still suit the DKoK and is a much better tank IMHO.
Also, I prefer the looks and function. VULCAN MEGA BOLTER!!
