Ok, I got a simple question about moral checks from 25% casualties from shooting.

Me and a friend of mine were playing a game a couple nights ago. He was running a squad of 10 Imperial Guardsmen. The crew consisted of 8 regular models, and a Heavy weapons team (2 wounds).

I shot at his unit and scored 3 wounds. He removed 2 troopers and put a wound on his heavy weapons team. The question that arose was : Does this unit take a moral check for 25% casualties?"

the rulebook says that a unit losing 25% of its MODELS in the shooting phase takes a moral check.

My thinking was that since the unit had a total of 10 wounds in it, and I took 3 of them, then that would warrant a leadership check. But after reading the rulebook, it says 25% MODELS, so with the way he allocated his wounds, he only removed 2 models, which would not require a Ld Check.

It wasnt a game breaker or anything, but I would like to get clarification, cus I am sure it will come up again.

Your friend was correct. 2 out of 10 is not 25% so no check is required.

As you said, it's models, not wounds.

So if he'd removed 3 normal infantry, he would have had to take the test.

Still only 23%. So no check required.
