Hi,

I have a question regarding this special rule and two hypotetical situations:

On the example 1, the scorpion marker didn't move (a hit is rolled) but it have no space to emerge. Since the marker is not above of an enemy unit, the scorpion are not placed in combat, and it have no room to be placed.
On the example 2, the marker moves above of the red unit, then is placed in combat with the closest edge (front), but again it have no room to be placed.

I searched through the rules and find no clue about this. One thing is cristal clear, the units are not allowed to move in order to make room for the scorpion, they are no such thing in the rulebook that allows it. But the scorpion must be placed somewhere.

what do you think?

I think you should use a marker thats the size of the scorpion base, i know they say to use a coun but it dosen't allways work out so well, around here a guy just uses a cardboard square and noone has ever complained.

The thing is not the size of the marker, but the placement of the scorpion if it don't have enough space.
With a bigger marker in example 1 you will end in contact with the three units so you must be placed in combat with all three, but they are no space for this to happen... so, what can be done?

First off, this isn't covered, so you'll have to find an acceptable method to place them. If you were looking for a page number and a rule, you're out of luck.

If you read through the section on closing the door during a charge, you'll see that sometimes enemy units do move to complete an engagement.

With no clear rules on what to do, I would actually shift the enemy units to allow for this.
In example 1b, move red and blue up a bit, and green back a bit. In 2B, I'd move green back and out of the fight, while moving Red up, leaving the scorpion in the rear.

If I were the tomb king player, I'd let me opponent decide how far each unit moves to product the 1" required gap, so that I wouldn't gain an unfair advantage.
Does Red move up 2" and green sit still? Does green back up 2" and red sit still? It's a tricky situation, so letting your opponent shift the units (while not changing facing) is the best solution.

Alternatively, just impose the fanatic method. If he can't be placed, keep moving him in that direction until he can be placed. Then charge. In situation B1, I'd use the arrow on the hit for the direction of shift.

If I were playing against tomb kings, I'd find either of these acceptable; especially since I'd be more worried about a scorpion that wasn't coming from below.

I agree with you, the same two options are what we are discussin in my game group. Wich one are the best? Move the enemy units or move the scorpion?

I generally go with "whatever changes the game least" - so if moving the unit is better, as it moves less around, then move the enemy. Otherwise move the scorp.
