Here's the lowdown. As an example, I use 5 meks and use both abilities available to me from the unit as stated in the reference sheet. So I roll 3D6 using the Apocolyptic Barrage template. Now I roll for strength and grab a triple. Now it says that should I get triples (not including a triple 1 at this point), would treat the roll as the corresponding double in the chart in the Ork dex and the center of the first marker counts as if a Vortex Grenade has gone off.

So first question: I'm not familiar with Apocolyptic Barrage let alone barrage, so what does the dice rolling business mean?
Second question: How big is the blast of said Vortex Grenade?

I think vortex grenade is a small blast.

The Apoc Barrage is detailed in the Apocalypse rulebook. You roll a die for every "shot" it allows, five in the case of five SAGs in this formation. These determine under which part of the AB marker stuff gets hit. Apoc rulebook, page 97.

The Vortex - Apoc page 187.

I don't have the apocolypse rulebook sadly so I don't know what either mean

You'll need the templates and access to the rules (buy or barrow) to play.
You can't use those apocalypse formations in normal games, so unless you are playing apocalypse, don't bother with them.

The AB marker is basically a large blast with four more tacked on it so it looks sort of like a four-leaf clover. You roll d6 to see under which of five sections the "shots" fall, and the guys in the overlapping parts are very unhappy.

Vortex grenade is a small blast and you are very unhappy for ending up touching it.

For more borrow a rule book and read up on it, we can't really post rules wholesale here.

Ill have to investigate further then. But in regards to the Vortex Grenade, it's just a small blast template in the center?

Aye, a small blast marker. Nothing to laugh at, the Vortex grenade...
