Ok, so I am gunna try to build a 2K list with the nids..without the use of Tervigons. Let me know how you guys think it will do!
Hive Tyrant - Heavy Venom Cannon, Lash Whip, Bonesword, Regeneration, Hive Commander, Leech Essence, Paroxysm
2 x Tyrant Guard
*This unit is here to glance vehicles with cannon if needed, run up with the Hormagaunts, Provide Synapse, and Paroxysm whatever units the hormagants will eat. Also aids in reserves coming in
2 x Hive Guard
2 x Hive Guard
2 x Hive Guard
*Tank killing. Depending on terrain setup, will either find a good hiding spot for these guys and shoot, or advance with Gaunts / Tyrant
9 x Genestealer w/ Toxin Sacs
9 x Genestealer w/ Toxin Sacs
* depending on terrain setup will either infiltrate if terrain accomidates, outflank if it doesnt, or advance with gaunts
18 x Hormagants w/ Toxin Sacs
18 x Hormagants w/ Toxin Sacs
* Advance with Tyrant
14 x Termagant
* For taking rear objective in cover
Trygon Prime w/ Adrenal Glands
Trygon
Trygon
* These guys will pop out behind opponent to destroy ordinance / Heavy Weapon Teams & just cause general chaos for the opponent. Depending on opponents setup, may have 1 or 2 start on board.
Well there it is. All together the list costs 1999 points. I was just wanting to try something different, but at the same time have a chance to give the opponent a run for his / her money. Let me know if you guys see any blaring weaknesses that I havent thought about.

I've found old adversary doesn't work with a on foot Tyrant. Hormagaunts can move 18" a turn and a Tyrant 12" putting you just out of range once your models move into combat, plus your Tyrant won't be running with that cannon either - I've found a winged Tyrant to be loads better as can move with the Hormagaunts, just unfortunately cover might be a problem, though you've got Venomthropes which get around this
Hormagaunts need toxin sacs - wounding everything on 4+ is great and you can get re-rolls - wounding on a 5+ or 6+ isn't cool.
Trygons are a lot better with adrenal glands and don't deep strike them Having them on the board gives three big ass targets, without them your army is a lot smaller and easier to tackle when it comes in piece meal.

I'm not a fan of Venomthropes, unless you're absurdly lucky They'll get knocked out first turn. I'd Bulk up my troops more and also agree with trygons starting on the board.

TBH I'd probably bin the Venomthropes too as they'll only pass so many cover saves before they die :(

O I also forgot to put in my original post that the tyrant would have hive commander to help bring the reserves in. My thinking was that with hive commander, then the trygons would be almost assuredly coming in on turn 2. So all I would have to do is survive a round or 2 of shooting and then they would be up in the opponents face.
Thats was also why the venomthropes are there, because while they may not survive that long, I was thinking that they may help for the first couple rounds.
I have edited my original list with a couple of your guys suggestions. Dropped the venomthropes. Made the hive guard 3 squads of 2. Removed old adversary from tyrant. Added toxin sacs to hormagants and upped the numbers.

Drop the 2 Trygons for 2 Carnifexes with Bio-Plasma and Adrenal Glands. Use the remaining 20 points for more Termagaunts.

You want old adversary, it really helps the Hormagaunts which hit mostly on 4+. Do you really need hive commander to bring two units in from reserve? With a 18" assault range they should be on the board giving target saturation and can be in assault by turn 2.

Oh, I thought you meant actually moving 18 like some was some super secret rule I was failing to read They can't actually move 18 unless there's something to assault
Related to post.. I'd also say drop 4 termagants and get adrenals on your other trygons.. 4 termagaunts will rarely ever make a difference in a game, where adrenals can easily be the difference between busting a land raider or not.. or going first in CC

My resoning for having the Trygons in reserve with Hive Commander, was the fact that I dont have a whole lot in the list that has the ability to take out vehicles that would sit back on the other side of the table and blast me with templates. If I am up against a army that doesnt have this, then the trygons could deploy, but if not, then the Trygons would come in earlier via deep strike and mess with my opponents backfield.
I do see the point about giving the Trygons the glands. When I get home tonight I will look at the list and make a few adjustments.

Personally I always try to make space for at least one broodlord if running stealers. He's a real brute in CC and you can use him to wound allocate due to number of wounds and extra armour if you're feeling lucky!

Er, Hive Guard? They should be in range by turn 2 latest really, if you start 12" in then move 6" then fire 24" that's 42" range which is longer than you think.
If you don't deploy your Trygons you will have a single monstrous creature on the board, several Hive Guard tucked away, some 'Stealers which I guess will be outflanking, two Hormagaunt broods which aren't massive and a small Termagant brood. So all in all to really shoot at is the Tyrant and Hormagaunts as everything else will be coming in from reserve or hidden away, not cool :(
