I don't see the point of Rending. You're already Ap1 wounding on 2+, and the extra D3 penetration can only glance AV10 even with the maximum rolls. Good idea though, but the Rending is just useless.

i dunno, causing instant death on 6's and adding another D3 (or was it D6) to penetration rolls sounds pretty good to me. But thank you for your response, if i'm wrong about the additional rules for rending someone please correct me and i'll fix that stats

Also, this unit is stupid. Just go ahead and make everything 10s while you're just slapping together whatever you think is powerful.

Awe yes, I remember the slicing orbs from their brief mention in the 2nd edition codex. I think your point values are about right given the abilities, but the unit itself kind of deviates from what aspect warriors are.
I would give them aspect warrior stats with the exarch possessing an option for the template weapon. Also, I would give them the flechette defense mechanism that vehicles receive; any rolls of a 1 to hit them causes a strength 4 hit on their attacker. Perhaps think about giving them rendering in hand-to-hand. I would place them in the 20 -30 point range depending on whether or not they get rendering. For special rules I would lean towards hit and run and deepstrike. I don’t really see the justification in giving them rules like fearless, acute senses, and feel no pain.
Model wise I would put a dire avenger with a different style helmet on a hellion board with shuriken catapults instead of splinter rifles attached to its underside. The orbs would also be present of course; but it would be hard to display them flying around the models. You probably could make the models and get away with using harlequin rules for the aspect if you where so inclined.

that is why i made them a flame weapon as it fits with the monofiliment weapon they use
Also updated the rules a tad bit, their not terminator killers but still strong enough to take down marines

3 wound everything on a 2+, AP 3 templates is OP; even one is too powerful – I probably should have spent some time considering that before recommending it as an option to give the exarch. You could wipe out a 20 strong necron squad with a joined lord a single shooting phase. No unit in the game should be able to inflict twice or trice their point value in damage on an enemy during a single turn unless there are special circumstances. For template weapons, wounding on a 2+ is very powerful on its own, and AP 3 is very powerful on its own; when you put them together it breaks the bank.
If it is a monofilament attack it should be strength 6 AP –, same as the warp spiders’ gun, the dark eldar shredder, and the shadow weaver, which are all monofilament attacks. In fact there is little to distinguish between the way your unit should perform and how the warp spiders perform, both are jetpack using aspects that fire monofilament spraying weapons. If you want to make out the models for the slicing orbs you should just play them using the warp spider rules. There is nothing tactical about jetting up to a marine squad and wiping them out in a single shooting phase. People having to play against this unit are likely to be upset that a 10-man devastator squad in heavy cover was just murdered in such a casual manner.

they are only 2 wound models, however maybe making the poison attack be a 4+? and replace jump infantry to normal infantry but make them fleet?

I would say make it 4+ poisoned. And make it Ap4 with Rending, that would be a good place to start.

Not really sure what you are attempting here – it seems like you are creating a unit just for the rules without a thought about the background. Aspects warriors pretty much have a fixed statline. Not even the exarches get two wounds or three attacks so it really doesn’t make any kind of sense why mere aspect warriors have better stats or things like feel no pain and fearless. And while there isn’t any useful info on the slicing orbs, I always thought of them as a close combat aspect, you are kind of taking them in a weird tangent – you might want to create your own aspect instead of using one already in existence. If your sole purpose if to create a template weapon for mass killing marines then people are always going to have an issue with your rules no matter how many alterations you make to them. Being able to wipe a marine unit out by placing multiple AP 3 templates over them is just obnoxious, taking away their jetpacks just means they will hop out of a vehicle to achieve the same goal like the dreaded snakes on a plane tactic with fire dragons. There is no tactical contribution and little fluff justification behind the unit it its just there to kill marines. An armor value of 3+ is something the marines pay for, it is no small thing to create a weapon that simultaneously negates their armor and cover save.

OP? No, and here's why: a few guardsmen with FRFSRF could kill these guys. They're not any scarier than flamers of tzeentch, who can DS ANYWHERE and kill anything they land next to, at a lower cost, with an invulnerable save. Yes, FNP is fun, but it still leaves them with no better than a 3+ save, which is hardly too much to deal with, especially since the 5+ portion of it is EXTREMELY negatable. A gang of marines rapid-firing could kill that unit, which is a huge risk, seeing as their kill range is exactly 14 inches. So, scary? Yes. OP? Absolutely not. I'd rather have Fire Dragons.

The Banewolf has an AP3, 2+ Wound Template weapon, and it's not OP at all. Hell, it's rarely a good choice to take tbh. But there is a big diff I suppose...this unit gets those templates for 50 points a pop.
My concern here is....what's the background? Aspect Warriors are known for fixating on a certain section of warfare, to the point that they can't really do much else very well. What is their focus? Killing Heavy Infantry? Or what? Find a fluff focus first...then we can talk about rules.

Much better objection. This is a question you're gonna need to answer--who are these guys, why do they have a different statline from all the other aspect warriors, and what do they do that makes them cool?> Also, what the heck is a slicing orb?

slicing orbs are pretty much solid balls of monofilient with wires of it attached. from what i've glemed thus far they seem to be thrown and are increadibly fast hence why i made the weapon a flame template

Okay good. That's their main weapon. Now....why the hell is this thing AP3 if its monofilament wire? Reading about it, it seems like they'd be the best at urban warfare or something, using their orbs to utterly annihilate enemy light infantry in close quarters, but not as good at killing heavy infantry.

i'd say more medium to light infantry (power armor in my opinion falls under medium) but that's just my opinion. but in retrospect the current stats i have for them are exactly the same as a Harlequin trope master with the exception of the number of wounds and strength value. As that model weighs in at 38 points give or take 2 points, i hardly see any problem with these creations of mine when you're paying 50 points a model for them

Eh, I'd call power armor heavy infantry, especially with T4. 4+ with T3 and T4 is medium infantry, with your basic Guardsmen being light infantry.
So if it's medium infantry, I'd say AP4 at most. AP3 starts makes you a generic Marine killer. What I would do to represent this being a medium infantry killer, is AP4, S4. Maybe make it small blast (that ignores cover) instead of template with a 12" range? Cause the mental image I have of this is an Eldar grenadier, hurling these orbs at infantry in cover to slice them to tiny bits.

differances of opinion i guess simply because the image i see is these guys throwing the orbs and manipulating them with the wire. though i do agree maybe AP 4 is for the best

So, what aspect of Khaine do they represent?
Who is their Phoenix Lord and what is he/she like?
Which was the first craftworld to adopt this fighting style and why?
Also, have you considered renaming them "doom yoyos?"

i did not make them up they ARE an actual aspect, just so little is known about them. they may not even have a Phoenix Lord as they are only mentioned in either rouge trader or 2nd edition. Mekanob - The Slicing Orbs are an Aspect mentioned long ago in the "Taste the Rainbow" 2nd Ed. Codex. It's explicitly mentioned that there are myriad warrior aspects, so the Slicing Orbs are indeed (arguably) canon. Imagine it like some of the many SM chapters that are mentioned in fluff, but never actually beefed out. It's an anchor point for a keen hobbyist or gamer to come up with something fun.
Forge World just invented their own aspect, so go figure.
Tyrael - my opinion is to keep the same statline as every other elf in the book. 4433 etc. If you want them to use flamer templates they hit automatically anyway. I like the idea of the template, as it makes the weapon ignore cover, that's something that we lack heavily in 5th.
Something that's Template is fun, we don't have enough of them.
Rending is par for the course for monofilament weapons.
Why not attach the Night Spinners dangerous terrain SR?
I'd love to see poisoned(OP?) and AP3, as we don't have any decent marine-killers in the list, Reapers blow and wraithguard are too clunky.
I'd like to see the Orbs fill a gap of fast-moving, template-firing marine-killers. That's a fairly unique unit for us right now. If I modeled them, it'd be Hellion boards (as mentioned above) and levitating balls of wire.

Unit Type: Infantry
Wargear: Slicing Orb (range Template Strength 6 AP - Assault 1, rending
Options: 1 orb may be upgraded to an exarch. Exarch may take the following options.
super flamer- S6, AP3
Exarch power Dazzle- All attacks on the Orbs are -1 to hit (shooting and cc)
Fly-by- The unit may shoot and run in the same shooting phase.
Special rules: Fleet

every other? by that you mean for get the harly troop master right? sorr if that sound agressive but these guys have gotten alot of flack from other members so far
