I have some of the best clients ever.

One of the projects that I did a while ago was to convert a pair of cake toppers into apocalyptic figures (one was a zombie, and the other was a survivor in a gas mask).

This time, my client wanted a bride and groom fighting off the zombie horde (the clothing in this diorama matches theirs).

So, here they are:

Each time I do one of these, I have to think "Man, I wish I had this idea back when I was planning my own wedding. My wife would have loved it."

Anyway, onto you for comments.

Oh man... I also wish I had something similar for my wedding. I even had a sword! (a proper sword, mind, not one of those namby pamby Eastern letter openers )

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

I had a friend who armed their best man (apparently it is a tradition as he's meant to keep the bride from being kidnapped).

Also, they each painted up a Warmachine mini for their own cake toppers.

Consider the idea plagiarised for future use! Very nice models and ultra cool customers for suggesting it.

Misery. Missouri. Who can tell the difference.

I could just imagine what my bible thumping in-laws would have to said to me on that one. It would have been epic. I can just see them coming at me screaming "The power of Christ compels you!"

Dude you are the hero of geek-kind across the world. Great and epic work man.

The couple that slays together stays together. It's always a good idea to make sure your lovely bride is willing to sever your head or destroy your brain when it comes down to it.

These look great, by the way. Were the couple clients from a prior transaction or "cold" customers? I'm curious about how you got the job...

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

They were new customers. In fact, both of the cake topper projects that I've done have been new customers (they might have found me through Bartertown or through my forum/blog posts featuring the other set of cake toppers).

I don't know how much crossover there is, but then again people tend to pick up new 40k armies way more often than they get married.

Haha. I think it's great that there are people who would do this. If everyone in this world lightened up a bit we'd all be happier.

You know, for the record, this one was requested by the bride.

The last zombie cake toppers I painted were requested by the groom, and they were a surprise for the bride (I had to hold off posting them in case she saw).

But you've got a point. It takes a special kind of girl...
