So, I've been getting into WFB with the new edition, and have started to finally get around to modeling and painting my Lizardmen. I wanted them to be distinct on the tabletop, and decided not to go with the ordinary blue or green that is usually seen. Instead, I decided to make them a bright orange/red, with the majority of their weapons being silver/black and green, save for the really important leaders, who would be decked out in gold.

Playing around with the selective color tool in Photoshop allowed me to come up with a basic idea of what I wanted my army to look like.

I've just finished my first model, and I have to say, I'm very pleased with how he turned out. The rest of my army won't be quite as detailed, but they'll have the same general color scheme.

More should be coming in the next few weeks - I've been pretty busy with schoolwork, but I'm beginning to settle into a routine that allows me to paint, prime, and build with the time I've got.

Expect more in the near future!

It's complicated."

Very nice detailing and colour choices.

Perhaps it might benefit from some wash to bring in some shadowing and darker recesses?

Yeah, I have a pretty large Saurus and Stegadon Lizardmen army and washes can be your best friend with these types of units. All that scale really works well with the washes. I'd recommend using a light green wash on the red.

Thanks! I was debating doing a wash on him, but I didn't want to darken it too much - the only washes I have atm are Badab Black and Devlan Mud. Might have to pick up some green wash and give it a try sometime in the next week or so.

I like the colour choice, but I agree with the other posters that a bit more shading would make them 'pop' a lot more. Nice work!
