I have returned to Epic after a long absence; I last played just before Epic:40K was mothballed. I realise that I am in the minority, but I liked the way it played better than the previous editions. Less micro managing, more fun..IMO anyway. I now have 3 forces , 2 of which I found in a charity shop for ,basically, peanuts (which brought me back to the fold so to speak). They are IG, Marines, and Orks (no real surprises there!!). I play with Epic:Armageddon rules, and I must say, I'm pretty happy with them.

Anyway, I have a few questions I would like to ask more experienced player...

Are Ogryns any good? They seem it to me, but I know in 40K they are derided as basically useless. I'm going to get some anyway-but are they worth including for more serious play?

Ferral Orks...I can't make them work-but can't resist a unit called "Orkeosarous" (I know that's not spelt right...sorry). What advice-apart from "play another list" -can people give?

Does anyone have an opinion on the Epic UK Marine lists in the "Codex Space Marine" and "Codex Chaos Marine" pdf's. They look fine to be, but other opinions are valuable

Does anyone know of any lists for Salamanders in Epic??

Are Teleporting Terminators a bit broken? Or is it just me??

I look forward to hearing from you

Ok, here we go!

Ogyrn's are fine in of themselves, you just need to find the right place for them. Don't forget if you want to add them to mech infantry you need to buy chimera's for them.

Feral's aren't the most powerful list and in truth quite one dimensional. You will find yourself playing corners a lot against experienced players as they exploit your lack of speed.

Epic-UK lists, I like them but could be accused of bias!

If you head over to http://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd/ - the tactical command forum - you will find the largest community for Epic of all flavours and all kind of lists!

And as you're not a million miles from me there are a few Epic A players at the Cranfield Conquerers club http://www.cranfield-conquers.co.uk/ so arranging a game wouldn't be impossible. Just not before xmas as the 40K boys are having a campaign and using all the 6'x4' boards!

I haven't been logged on for a long while, but here's some addition to mephistons reply.

Here's a thread for some Ferals tactics

Also for Salamanders there is this list.

I've not found teleporting Terminators to be that broken. Usually I ferry a formation in Thawk to allow more freer (is that spelled correctly?) placement and use.
