I'm fairly new still to Warhammer and have a quick question.

I want to do some conversions on my Imperial Guardsmen, but I want them to remain legal.

1. Can I swap just their heads with something non-GW and have it remain legal?

2. Can you suggest any conversions that will keep them legal at all?

Thanks in advance!

Last I knew, GWs policy was 75% of the model had to be GW parts or green stuff

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Oh, if that is the case...anyone know a good place for female heads? I'd like an all-girl vet squad.

I can't verify how good they or his customer service are, but this thread has contact information for someone selling a complete Female Cadian conversion kit, and pictures of the product.

I'd wait until some of the others get theirs before I ordered, though.

Nice, thanks for the heads up. I guess another place, http://www.shadowforge.com.au/ , has a conversion kit theyre working on as well. The one that you showed me looks more promising and I am currently waiting for a reply from that company.

Thanks again ^^

I say don't worry about it if your playing friends, that way your can just get some female models like the Shadowforge scify line.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

I've thought about that. Hasslefree has some cool stuff too. I may do that for Commanders and such, but I'd like to have relatively legal pieces. I'll go both routes in the end, I'm sure.

It's just a pity you're wasting the conversion possibility on female IG models...female noise marines would be a lot more fun

MMMMMmmmm...kinky chicks in armor that scream a lot and like leather, whips, and chains...vs chicks in armor with flashlights. Hehehe

I think that might have to wait until AOW releases a nice plastic Dark Elves box, or GW redoes the Witch Elves in plastic (without screwing it up like they did the Daemonettes).

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

I used an IG force in-store which comprised Bretonnian bodies, cadian arms but with Pig Iron heads (the gask mask one).

But, some of the models (I have a robot themed army) were entirely non-GW. There was a kind of autistic kid who I knew would pick them out, and I was a little bit worried about it. He came over to the model, picked it up and in a loud Rainman-esque voice proclaimed, "whats this model? I don't recognise it." I just said they were old OOP necrons, and winked at the manager who had come over to look. He kind of grinned and nodded and left it at that.

But, I have to point out the guy working in the store at the time was a normal human being, and some members of staff who's soul has been entirely absorbed by the hive mind might have had a different reaction (so I would be a little careful). I suppose you could always use the argument that you are still having to buy full box sets of Cadians to make the models, so its no skin off GW's nose (but once again, the 'x factor' is the level of normalcy displayed by the staff member).

Somewhere in south-central England.

Hasslefree Miniatures have two different sets of female human heads.

You have to provide hair or helmets.

They also do a Sci Fi conversion pack with three helmets.

To avoid great expense, you could greenstuff up the heads with hair and the metal helmets, then cast them in resin.

Alternatively, use the Cadian helmetted heads and cut the heads out of the helmets.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

I knew Hasslefree had female heads, but I didnt even think about a conversion pack. Hmm, I guess I have a lot to mull over. Thanks for all the advice!
