Hi there!

I bough the 7 plague marines GW box, and I noticed that the content of the box is a little different from the box, the GW webpage picture, or even from those who appear in the BA White Dwarf dedicated number. I mean, mainly the bodies and heads are a bit different. Does this mean that the content of the box is random, or did the box content change?

Another thing. I wanted 8 plague marines. I was planning on making the 8th one with normal plastic parts, but he wouldn't have metal parts (wich weigh more). Do you know some webpage whre I could buy just 1 plague marine?

7 is the number of nurgle, so i think they gain a bonus for being a unit of seven, so I wouldnt recomend adding another guy!

You might be able to get an individual Plague Marine on ebay....
(But 7 is the better number )

They don't gain a bonus.....Unless your superstitious, and then maybe the perform better when in squads of 7...

The older (4th ed?) book used to give Plague Marines, Berserkers, Noise Marines, and Thousand Sons, bonuses for bringing squads in their God's chosen number. GW hasn't changed up the boxes of Plague Marines since, so that's why you get the goofy 7 Plague Marines.

The squads mentioned by Granesh used to get a free aspiring champion upgrade if they took their 'sacred number'.

If you want even numbers of Plague Marines the Forgeworld upgrade kit is the best and the sculpts are of a better quality.

I have 21 plaguemarines, 11 of which are the new ones (the other 10 are the old 2nd/3rd ed plaguies). As far as I know, there are 8 body variations, not including the discontinued Death Guard Havoc Squad variants (of which there were around 4, bringing the total amount of variant bodies up to 12, although Death Guard Havocs are not cross-compatable with normal Metal Plaguemarines).

As for how many bodies you should have in a squad, go with either 10 or 7. 7 to remain fluffy and true to papa nurgle, 10 for tactical reasons (the max you can fit into a Rhino).

I believe you can order Death Gaurd parts form Forgeworld. Just stick em on CSM legs and paint to match! They also have terminator stuff if I'm not mistaken.



Personally I'd be inclined to just build my own from GS and bitz, but I have an astronomical amount of free time.

I'd personally buy a second boxed set. It's a bit pricey but you could then model up variant aspiring champions and special weapons while still having extra base plague marines. Sometimes you feel like melta guns, sometimes like plasma.

GW loves me.

ebay is your friend. Give it a look before going the retail route if you're looking to save some $$$.

I know, but I've been looking for the death guard havocs and they aren't avaliable, even on eBay

DG Havocs are pretty rare, and it kinda surprised me when GW discontinued them and selling individual Death Guards.
