Can't see it mentioned anywhere, but as it just allows codex independent Chaos troops into a pre-desigend army can't see why it shouldn't be. Thoughts?
(Discloure - I have one about 1/2 finished from years ago....)

Re looking at the codex I think its dead. it goes off Codex chaos space marine however
fielding the HQ choices (aspiring champions) they get their weapons from the "chaos armory" which doesn't exist anymore in the new CSM codex
so it seems they either forgot about the codex while making this new one OR they simply didn't care.
thats the way I see it looking at the legion of the damned codex.
for friendly games I could see you using the new chaos lords "armory" for you HQ for legion though

You are not free whose liberty is won by the rigour of other, more righteous souls. Your are merely protected. Your freedom is parasitic, you suck the honourable man dry and offer nothing in return. You who have enjoyed freedom, who have done nothing to earn it, your time has come. This time you will stand alone and fight for yourselves. Now you will pay for your freedom in the currency of honest toil and human blood. |

Legal in the sense that there are no rules against it but don't be surprised if the TO decides to not allow the codex due to its age.

I thought that the Eye of Terror codex was no longer legal?
If its not for a tournament, there are some great lists in the Imperial Armour books 5, 6 and 7 (generic, Nurgle and Khorne respectively).

Not true, actually.
GW lists all the tourney legal codices, and it is not on there.

Yeah, due to changes in structure, EoT, unfortunately, broke. However, with a friendly group, I am sure you could still pull it off.

I would imagine you'd have no problems using LaTD among friends/friendly games, but,as has been pointed out, tournaments/TO may not allow it.
Personally I think it's ridiculous that GW "sqauted" LaTD to begin with, considering traitors/mutants/cultist are the most prevalent enemy the Imperium faces.
