I bought a few of these pre-painted pvc models very cheap, and as I hate the GW ogryn models I had the idea to modify and repaint them as Steel Legion ogryns.
Do you think they are too big to fill this role? I have put one next to one of my guard trooper for an idea of scale. They seem a bit big to me but I'm not sure if it's *too* big?

Thanks.

A little, but it's not TOO bad. Just make sure they get a base. You might want to consider chopping down the bottom of the feet a bit. This will help with the height problem, and keep them on the base better.

Totally agree with Ailaros. I'd also add a few changes to them to make them more IG related.
Have fun.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Cools, thanks for the feedback, I will use them then! They are apparently from the Bahaus faction from a game called 'Warzone : Mutant Chronicles'. I bought three figure packs from ebay for a couple of pounds per set, one of the packs also comes with a model that would make a mean SM dread conversion starting point.

By cutting out their knee's or a chunk out of the boot's you would decrease the size by quite a lot and make them a little more "in size". Other than that, very cool! Maybe a weapon change though?

Guns look a little High tech but apart from that they look okay, not my personal preference aesthetically, but it's your army. As for your actual question It really depends on whether YOU are happy with the size, they are bigger than normal ogryns thus tactically easier to spot on the tabletop. Also If you are that way inclined, due to their unusual appearance, they are slightly harder to contextualise in your army backround.

Those are the NEWER prepainted 54mm sized Warzone plastics.
The game got cancelled last year (Fantasy Flight games took a hit on that one - but it seems that the rpgs for the 40k universe have reversed that somewhat).

The prepaints were (due to a larger size on the models) worse than the AT-43 models - and aesthetically, they were not anywhere near pleasing enough.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Prolly want to take some clips to the bottom of the feet before you base them. They are a little big, but could work I suppose.
