Yes, I'm a coward, and plan on taking some METAL BAWKSES for my Blood Angel army. However, I notice in Wargear for RHIIINOOOOS, it lists Storm Bolter as both Wargear, and an upgrade. I'm using a Chimera for it, so I can't see the kit, and have no idea if it's obvious or not. But...

Sooo... I pay ten points, and get ANOTHER Storm Bolter? So I get a sixty-point RHINOOOOO with two Storm Bolters? I'm sorry if it's horribly obvious, I just want to be sure. I'm new to SPESS MEHREN stuff.

To hold off immobilized results? Cause once you run out of weapons 'weapon destroyed' becomes 'immobilized' right?

...Hey, that's actually a really good idea! I never thought of that. Sure, there's better things I could get for ten points, but if nothing else, staving off an immobilized result is always a good thing.

I just hope I don't FEHL THE EMPRAH.

And, I have heard some stories where the lowly pintle-mounted storm bolter took out an HQ during a game

I buy HK missiles for the same reason if I have spare points. Keep the HK until your rhino arrives at its destination. If you give up the HK missile to stave off an immobilised result on the way, so be it. Once you get where you want to be, fire missile. End.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Since storm bolters are only strength 4, you can move six inches and fire both as defensive weapons.

giving my chaos rhino a pintle mounted combi/TWbolter has caused their survivability to go up quite a bit. the same goes for your rhinos. but ours are cheaper >;3

Why was he unhelpful? He answered him in his previous post, then continued to implore him to use proper English. That seems perfectly reasonable to me. Improper English and internet slang is against forum posting rules as well, though admittedly it is not highly enforced.

Also, to add my voice to the crowd, yes you do get one SB as standard and a second SB would be ten points. Though a HK missile is often a better choice in my experience if you're going to buy a weapons upgrade. The missile allows you to threaten more potential targets, and your rhino will not often have the chance to shoot more than once or twice anyway.

Ugh.

Please read the rules of this site (check the link in my signature), and please make an effort to participate in accordance to those rules in what is largely a visual medium.

And really, enough with the "SPESS MEHREN" crap.

You can, but I wouldn't bother if I were you. Realistically speaking, rhinos pop so easily you're unlikely to suffer more than one weapon destroyed result in a single game.

There's just an acre of you fellas, isn't there?

If you have 3 rhinos with 2 storm bolters each, thats 12 S4 shots out to 24" each turn, which isn't awesome but isn't exactly bad either.

I've had a Rhino run roughshod through my IG firing line, slaughtering Guardsmen left and right with its one storm bolter.....Stupid tank shocking.

So, it's arguably a good puchase provided you don't have anything else that desperately needs it. And hey, if you decide you don't want the spare SB, it's easy enough to knock off a model...

Rofl. The caps locks title/op is very annoying, but this comment is gold. So very true.

I am not sure, but I think that after you fire the Hunter Killer missile, it still counts as a weapon for weapon destroyed. It is a weapon that you can not fire, but the empty tube is still there waiting to be blow away.

(Note: there is some controversy on this one whether a one shot weapon is "destroyed" ofter using only once, I think no, but other people will say otherwise)
