Hi I'm starting a knew space wolf army. Any ideas on what to get. I want it to ideally be about 750 points but I don't mind if it's slightly over or under. . I would like it quite mobile and cc orientated. Thanks.

Well, it's hard to make 750pts armies, but SW have one nice trick for them... Razorbacks

I'd go with it at this pts cap, but it's not cc oriented... It would go like this:

HQ: 110
Rune priest (chooser, living lightning, murderous hurricane): 110

TROOPS: 480
5x grey hunter (flamer): 75
+ dedicated razorback (lasplas): 75
5x grey hunter (flamer): 75
+ dedicated razorback (lasplas): 75
5x grey hunter (flamer): 75
+ dedicated razorback (lasplas): 75

HEAVY SUPPORT: 190
5x Long fang (4xml): 115
+ dedicated razorback (lasplas): 75

TOTAL: 750

You should have nice force (as nice as you can get it at this pts cap) here... Alternatively, you coud add 4 more hunters in one squad and give them rhino... But that would mean making one more razorback into TL HB... Then you could give 2 flamers on that unit, and give meltaguns to other two razorbacks...

Chinchilla has posted an excellent starter list at 750, though it does focus more on ranged firepower. If you want something a bit more assault oriented I would take a couple of large packs in Rhinos in place of those Razorback packs and give them Wolf Guard Pack Leaders.

An alternative would be:

Rune Priest (Living Lightning, Murderous Hurricane) - 100
3 Wolf Guard (2x Power Fist, 2x Combi-Melta) - 104
8 Grey Hunters (Meltagun, Wolf Standard, Rhino) - 170
9 Grey Hunters (Meltagun, Wolf Standard, Rhino) - 185
5 Long Fangs (4 Missile Launchers, Razorback w/ LasPlas) - 190
Total 749

The Rune Priest rides with the 8 man pack and the two Wolf Guard with Power Fists attach themselves to the Grey hunters. The naked Wolf Guard attaches himself to the Long Fangs as an ablative wound.

It has a few more Grey Hunters, which makes it more suited to a Rhino Rush strategy. The two large packs move forward under covering fire from the Long Fangs, then disembark and fire at whatever is the largest threat. The Rune Priest uses Murderous Hurricane on anything that might be a significant melee threat (remember that your Grey Hunters have to shoot at the same target though, unless he leaves the pack), then you accept a charge, using Counter Assault to gain extra attacks, and your Wolf Standard to re-roll 1's in combat.

It's an effective strategy, and easily moved up to 1,000 points. Simply add another pack of Grey Hunters in a Rhino, add a Long Fang, and give that 3rd Wolf Guard a Power Fist and Combi-Melta like the others to ride with the 3rd pack. I also switch out Murderous Hurricane for Tempest's Wrath and keep the Rune Priest's pack a little ways back as a support unit and objective holder.

Chinchilla's list is definitely viable though if you prefer ranged combat.
