So in general, the GW greater daemon models are big ham fisted wads of terrible.

The Bloodthirster and Great Unclean One are the worst IMHO, with the Keeper of Secrets and Lord of Change serving as passable models.... sort of.

I'm a fan of the Ultraforge daemons in general and currently am using a War Demon as a Bloodthirster.

I want to have my army led by a lord of change, but dislike the whole "birdman" look. I am interested in finding a Lord of Change model that matches the look of the old metal horror/flamer models rather than the birdman look.

Anyone have good leads?

Forgeworld makes some absolutely amazing models if you aren't down for building your own.

Look at Ultraforge. There stuff is just as good or better than Forgeworld and GW. Best of all they are the same price or cheaper.

IMO the GW greater deamon models are hideously out dated. I'll poke around that Ultraforge site and take a look....honestly I'm a fan of building my own stuff even if it doesn't have the same level of polish that professional sculpts to....within reason of course.

Well, Ultraforge's qualtiy is top notch so much so that GW sent them a C&D over their Nuglest Greater Demon. The only place that I know that has one is Chaosorc.com in their Ultraforge section which sells that stuff at 20% off.

Thanks for the heads up on that. They had 2 on the site. They only have one left now.

The Minotaurs might be a good GW alternative for the bloodthirster. Just GS on some Dragon wings or something and it should be good to go. The Lord of Change however will be a challenge. You can either try and gs-ing a bunch of plastic horrors together into a vaguely humanoid shape or scratch sculping a gigantic horror. either way mount it on a disc to justify it's lack of wings.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.
