Pencil me in, I'll get a list together and find some proxies!

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

@Dash
My apologies for sounding rude but your kinda hijacking the thread here. Cyporiean found a place to host Brushfire and your deliberately trying to turn people away from the store and hurt participation. Let people see for themselves.

@Cyporiean and all participants:
Good luck with the tournament. Wish everyone the best.

p.s. The legionnaires are really sweet.

Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

thehod - having been to stores and events all over the country, I've come to expect a certain level of civility, friendliness, and fun dice rolling at the events I go to - I don't think that noting that strangers should have a care when frequenting an establishment based on personal experience is hijacking the thread....just helping potential attendees prepare for it.

I appreciate those kind of heads ups when I'm headed to a new store to play in something. I've decided not to attend several smaller events at various locations because having announced my intention to do so, had people who's opinions I value tell me about the store and players, and I decided to direct my efforts elsewhere.

I have no idea what Brushfire is, but think its a very good idea to note that the store its happening at has some issues.

Dash, if your friends volunteer you some feedback on a venue, that's a rather different thing from a stranger popping into an event announcement thread to trash talk a place.

Thanks Hod. Did you pick some up from John?

Historical Parody Miniatures Skirmish game that uses indigenous animals as troops. Its been referred to as 'Wind in the willows goes to war.' I'd be happy to give you a demo at any of the other game stores in Florida, four of which carry the game.

You and I must have very different opinions of what constitutes trash talking a place. What I said was polite and unaccusatory. Relax.

Is there a website with pictures of models? What kind of player base is there? The reason I haven't gotten into a lot of potentially interesting things (like Malifaux) is because players seem to be extremely scarce.

Still a small player base at the moment, but its growing. Rulebook came out at Gencon, first two faction starters came out in October. Model pictures can be found in the OTL Gallery. I remember hearing something about you attending Gigabites' 40k Tourney in the 12th in Atlanta, you can take a look at the models in person there.

Thanks.

Also, if anyone is in the area and is interested in the system one of us will be able to provide demos before/during/after the tourny, just ask someone with a bright orange shirt.

Just want to make sure it stays polite. This is an area where even mild criticism can sometimes hurt folks and start fights.

It went well, Dakka's Gavin Thorne took first place with Scyzantine. They are planning on running several more events soon.

Well hope to show up and see for myself now that classes are over. When will you be back at Amorous Armadillo Games?

Unsure, I hope to make it down to Armadillo this week.. but.. ya know...

Mike will be doing some Brushfire stuff on Monday, I know he has it scheduled for demos, but I'm sure you can get a proper game with him too.

Sorry Dash, being a contributory member of the Brushfire team encourages participation when an event comes to town. The folks at OTL are good friends and I wanted to support their efforts, not to mention play a few games with my favorite army - until Xalapena comes out, that is!

I played three fun and very close games, managing to win with some admittedly better than normal luck for me - especially landing a cannon shot on Arctos and his berserking Hampsters and having Hassan Kusuuf reappear a few times. Thanks for the opportunity!
