I need expertise on flocking and surfacing of EVA foam tiles. I was thinking of using a thinned silicone caulking. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Much appreciated!

You can't really thin silicone caulk, it isnt water based, so what are you planning on thinning it with?

Normally when I flock stuff to use as terrain I use a slightly watered down wood glue and a product called scenic cement. My method won't work because since your foam is flexible it would just flake off. I recommend useing something alittle stiffer, I generally use foam insalation.

If I can solve the flex issue, interlocking foam tiles are going to be brilliant. I should have said caulk rather than silicone caulk, I'm trying to educate myself on the differences. Maybe xylene would be a good thinner but I'm going on so many uncertainties. I don't even know what would adhere and what would not.

I've done the foam insulation thing too but this will be better for me in lots of important ways. Living in Japan and trying to advance my skills with new materials is...really funny, since I'm basically illiterate. Even buying white glue a few months back was a funny scene.

The biggest problem is going to be the flex, you might be able to get around this my glueing the foam tiles to a similary shaped peice of wood, if you can keep the foam from flexing you should be able to use standard wood glue.

Useing Xylene or an Xylene based product to flock your foam may actually eat the foam...

Ethylene vinyl acetate. I'm talking about floor tiles made from it.

Ninja'd while reading the EVA wiki entry.

Have I been overlooking the most obvious solution--clear EVA adhesive? 5118 Aqueous EVA?
