Ork Minelayer .pdf from Games Workshop

This is an Apocalypse unit.

The Ork Minelayer has no weapons, only the Minelayer trait. There is no mention of where mines can be placed. Common sense would say the mines would be dropped near where the actual winch is. On the other hand, a RAW interpretation would possibly suggest that you could drop mines wherever, one per turn. From a balance perspective it would make no sense (to me at least) that you would buy an expensive superheavy minelayer only to have it putter around 6" to drop a mine right on top of itself, that would probably blow itself up if you tried to use the mine the next turn.

Thoughts? (In before, "talk it over with your opponents.")

Also, seems strange. I'd assume behind the ship like it says in the fluff, but w/e

The rules say nothing about where the mine is placed. Makes sense to be at the back of it but that is a bit rubbish.

Still, not the first completely useless Apoc datasheet that's been created.

I'd play it as anywhere along the path of the minelayer's movement, myself. Treat it like a bombing run that doesn't go off until someone comes closeby.

There's just an acre of you fellas, isn't there?

By strict RAW, the mines would be useless, as there is no rules mechanic provided to actually lay them.

For myself, I would go with treating it as disembarking (ala Tau Drones) with the winch as the access point.

I would say Mekanob has the best idea, dropped along the route of travel.

Pretty funny on gws part though, the onlly thing the vehicle can do .... undefined .....
