I'm starting tyranids for christmas and yesterday I bought a box of warriors to develop an good paint scheme. I was envisioning a swamp or rainy day scheme. I painted my first warrior, but he didnt come out like I wanted him to.

I kind of like the gray chitin, but the blue and green came out terribly, or atleast not how I would like it. I'm thinking the green, the fleshbits, would be Warlock Purple just because that's how I roll. The blue however, might end up as Bleached Bone or Commando Khaki. I've no clue really. I'd just like my fleshbits to the that wonderful shade of purple and gray somewhere in the model. What do you think?

You can either keep the blue and green and have something else really bright for the armour plates, or tone down the flesh and tubes to fit in a bit more with the grey armour.

Personally I like the blue and green colours you have, so I would look for a colour for the armour which fits them.

Grey and bone colours can work well together.

Some blues and purples can go together as well. Blues and bones can also go together, depending on the shades used.

When I first thought of the scheme I wanted more of a cold blue than a baby blue. After I painted it my first thought was, "oh, that didn't go as planned." My girlfriend, mom, and brother said it looked kind of tacky. I personally don't like the blue and green together, but I definitely want the purple flesh bits. I have midnight blue paint, perhaps it would better like that? I only have 2 chances left, seeing as how the package comes with 3 warriors.

You can strip your models with several chemicals, just do a search.

Personally I think you have potential there. Give the blue a darker wash and same goes for the green bits. Color the carapace Purple (I'm basing this off the color theory course we have here at uni).

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

The guy above has some very nice bone and blue nids (also has lots of other tutorials which are very good if you take a look through his site).

I decided to scrap the blue; I can't seem to get the color that I want. Today I'm going to my LGS to get some Dwarf Flesh paint. The chitin is the same gray that you see above. I'm working in that now. All of the little flesh bits will be either Warlock Purple or Golden Yellow. To finish it all up the skin will be Dwarf Flesh with a (most likely) Gryphonne Sepia Wash. I'll post pics tonight after HW etc...

You should pick a contrasting color for the armor parts. It'll most likely look right then

I'd drop the idea of grey armour plating.
