I would say no because it's supposed to be for trading and selling not begging. It's a freaking hobby man it's not like they are pan handling to get food and/or cigarettes.

Edit: It would also be pretty lame to see titles like "Lost job, need Spacemarines"

In general I'd say no. Offering free stuff is fine but asking for free stuff just wastes space. The exception would be for things like SM Scout arms, where anyone using the kit as intended will have tons of spares lying around anyway.

I think we should have seperate forum with a name like "Beggar's Way" or something for those asking something for nothing. But I have no issues with begging for parts in general.

I've been playing Warhammer 40,000 since 1988, and am just coming back from a bit of a 10-year hiatus. And please excuse any wild accusations, hallucinations, or outright factual errors, as I am recovering from a serious head injury. And Warhammer 40,000 is part of my therapy. OH YEAH!

Spare parts within reason are understandable, such as a single scything talon or maybe a spare shoulderpad. However it would need moderation, since we cant have one guy continually "asking" for parts until he's collected enough to build an army. That would be no different than panhandling for an army and extremely annoying (to get that amount of bitz would require some serious spammage).

If someone wants to give their army away for free, they should be free to do so since it is their army.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

I think that anyone that's looking for bits should offer to pay. There are plenty of people that will just give them that part.

That said, on this and other forums, I've offered on a number of occasions to just give people the bit they wanted if they send me a stamped addressed envelope so that it was minimum hassle for me. Quite a few then turned me down because "then I've got to go and buy an envelope and stamps".... I guess they thought I had a handy envelope tree?
