Raging Heroes wrote:There's something happening in the woods…
Brought to life by her divine calling, here come Syl-Iriah's servants: the Tree Warriors, the wrath of the forest incarnate, wrecking havoc across their enemies' ranks.
This is our first unit, sold as a box of 3 different multi-part Tree Warriors.
The Tree Warrior box contains 3 different heads, 3 different torsos, 3 different sets of legs and 6 different arms, all with a ball-joint assembly system.
This means that each of your Tree Warriors can be unique! All elements are compatible and interchangeable for an infinite number of variations and poses!
To celebrate American Thanksgiving, we've prepared an awesome launch offer:
Get 4 BOXES FOR THE PRICE OF 3 and obliterate your enemy with the power of 12 Tree Warriors!
Each box costs €46.95 with the cost of each Tree Warriors working out to €15.65 a piece (about US$20.85 or £13.25).
Each Tree Warrior easily fits on a 40mm base. The height to the eyes is about 50mm, and they stand up to 85mm tall.
Available now! Flat rate shipping is still only €3.

They are certainly to that size, yes. What use wood elf players may choose for them, well that's up to them...

Unlike a tree with a face, legs, arms, eyes... and in the GW dryad case, bewbs... But well done agamemnon2, that's the least negative you've been about something for at least 2 years.

That's demonstrably false and slanderous.
Well, I can see the necessity of limbs and heads on miniatures for fantasy creatures, and humans react stronger to humanlike faces psychologically so a humanlike face also makes sense. Visible musculature, not so much. To say nothing of breasts or gender.

I'm gonna have to side with Agamemnon2 on this one. It looks kinda off.

Actually, it is written, so it would be libel.
I would be interested in seeing the falsity demonstrated, however.
I do agree with you about the tree men though. They are much closer to men with tree like characteristics than trees that are slightly anthropomorphic. The branches coming off are strangely shaped, and the skin texture doesn't really say bark or wood as much as "burn victim". I think they started from the wrong point, man to tree instead of tree to man.
And every tree needs the bewbs. People would hug a lot more if that were the case! (And admittedly, dryads were usually described as being attractive to humans at least, so one could argue they are more scary traditional dryads as opposed to trees with tits.)

Wow... what? *L* I might have to look that up on Hulu now or something, that's pretty weird. I suppose I lucked out; damn near everyone in Hollywood apparently has an aunt like that.

Really loving these models!!! I'm a big fan of a revamp to the treekin look (the dryads are worlds ahead, I think, although adding mossy stuff to the treekin helps them out a lot) and I think this was a bold and (imho) successful take on them
Just think of it like the ultraforge treewoman... another company's tree-people might lean more or less in one direction on the people/tree ratio, but they can be awesome even if they're a different interpretation on the idea
Actually, I LOVE the Ultraforge model. I think they did a great job with the texture of the "skin" and the shape of the limbs and it really evokes the tree aspect. From what I am seeing of these, I think a different color would make them look like something entirely different than a tree, as opposed to a tree of a different color, if you catch my meaning.
Granted, we can see, what, 20% of them? They might look a lot better with the other 80%
I agree that the six-pack is weird, but am definitely curious to see how they look overall.
Automatically Appended Next Post: BTW, The Last Unicorn is excellent. Really good, even for adults.

I have to say, I'm a fan of the sculpting aesthetic that they're working towards here. It is different, not just the same sort of tree with branch arms and root feet that we've seen bandied about in Fantasy so many times before (and light years ahead of the...whatever they are...that GW produces).
I really, really want these to be awesome treekin standins. But I need to see the full sculpt before deciding. I think they may have gone too far towards "man" on the man -> tree spectrum, like others have said. However, some additional limbs with some green stuff viney texture may be super win. I may be in for a squad of these guys as well as a manticore. But I can't see a manticore without hearing the description Rukh gave in the Last Unicorn: Man's face, lion's body, tail of a scorpion. If only I could put the Lammasu head on the manticore.... hmm.
Anyway, love that Raging Heroes are doing big treepeople!

"Evil will always triumph because good is dumb." - Darth Helmet
"History...is, indeed, little more than the register of the crimes, follies, and misfortune of mankind" - Edward Gibbon, The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire
They're certainly not bad, but they are certainly the weakest Raging Heroes offering to date... which is more of a commentary on how good their other stuff is, then how bad these are. The other stuff is fantastic, these are average.

Okay, or not... I hadn't checked what GW was charging for Treekin lately... $22.25 US? Ouch...

Yeah Cygnnus, you're right! They're actually a bit cheaper than GW Treekin on top of looking better and being fully posable. They're especially cheaper if you pick up the offer of 4 boxes for the price of three; it cuts down the individual Tree Warrior model to about $15 which is a good 30% cheaper than a GW Treekin. That's a hefty discount and a superior product for those Forest Spirit Wood Elf Armies out there that like running these guys in chunks!
Also: Updated original post with new picture and pricing.
These have interchangeable heads and limbs are 'ball and joint' connections to allow variable poses. So you can have full individuality between them even when fields several units.
1 box (3 Tree Warriors): €46.95
2 boxes (6 Tree Warriors: €93.90
3 boxes (9 Tree Warriors): €140.85
4 boxes (12 Tree Warriors): €140.85
To each their own, but I don't see the appeal of the GW models. RH's tree warriors actually look like uprooted trees ready to kill you. The GW version is more like a pile of firewood got nailed together to vaguely resemble a bipedal structure.
