So i am working on revolving my BA list around a Assault terminator Squad in a LR.

Right now i have 5 TH/SS Termies, A librarian W/ Sword & Rage, and a sanguinary priest W/ Lightning claw in a Crusader.

Rolling with the idea that 2+/3++/FnP would be Tremendously difficult to kill, and Strength 9 Thunder Hammers w/ Preferred enemy would kill just about anything.

However, i would love to hear some differing opinions on how to properly do this.

Usually going to be better to keep the Priest naked and leave him in the Land Raider rather than have him jump out with the squad. With 1 wound he is too easy to kill when the unit he is with is heading into assaults, all he has to do is hide in the Raider and provide the FNP bubble. Even better you could have him in a nearby Rhino etc so you can fit another Terminator into the Land Raider.

The assault terminators are one way to go. I'd run seven (4x th&ss + 3x LCs) in an LRC with a Recluisarch and Corbulo.

Honor Guard and VV can also be made into quasi deathstars. It just depends on how many points you are willing to spend. For the ultimate deathstar I'd run 10 VV as such (jump packs):

Sergeant: Thunderhammer & stormshield
Veterans #1 - #5: lightning claw & stormshield
Veteran #6: pair of lightning claws
Veteran #7: power fist & stormshield
Veteran #8: infernus pistol & power sword
Veteran #9: bolt pistol & chainsword

All are armed with meltabombs and have jump packs. If you forgo the use of Heroic Intervention then you could attach an Epistolary (Sword & Rage) plus a Priest (power sword).

You can do VV, Honor Guard, Terminators, Death Company, etc... all of them can be nasty and pack a really strong punch.

You're going to be adding at least a Sanguinary Priest to whatever unit (except the Honor Guard since they come with one) and ideally you'd have a Librarian w/Unleash Rage (o a Chaplain/Lemartes if it's Death Company) as well.

I do like the idea of VV although with a DeathStar I like to keep survivability at a max where I feel the mix of th/ss LC termies do a better job.

This is the best advice for BA TH/SS termies. I would bump up the squad size as well and perhaps add a DubLC or two. The Sang Priest can be in PA with no upgrades since he is going to hide all game in the raider anyways. What do you plan on taking to compliment this unit? If you are doing Drop heavy or Rhino chasis heavy BA then this unit can get left a little behind since the rest of the forces in C:BA move so quickly.

I like 6 termies in a land raider crusader-3 TLCs and 3 TH/SS, led by an Epistolary w/ Unleash Rage and Might of Heroes (I think that's the +D3 attacks one) and a Sanguine Priest. The TLCs with a charge get to attack at I5 which means they are going before almost all mechs and will get to re-roll all hits and wounds most likely. The 3 TH/SS models soak up the heavy blasts or crack tanks. That's my suggestion. I've had VERY good luck with it. The unit has only failed me once. Against Tau...and I'm still angry with them for their lone failure

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Corbulo is a great choice to run with your terms. He can definitely help soak some wounds, he has the special chainsword, 2W and the 2+ FNP, plus the special rule for rerolling one die.
