Hey Albie, just wanted to let you know I played Annihilation for my girlfriend and she absolutely loved it, she's going to play it for her parents, etc. when she gets a chance. She already wants to see you play live

Wow, I have to say I'm impressed - I've just bought your album and was willing to pay money for the remixed one too but it wouldn't let me

I haven't had the chance to listen to FIBUA or the other song on that single - but I want them! I'm loving everything I've heard so far!

Definitely up for seeing you guys live sometime...

Hey thanks Tibbsy, I just spotted that you bought it! Very kind, I must say. We don't expect people to make donations, but it's always nice when they do, so cheers. We may be playing live in Manchester towards the end of March if that's any use to you - we're not playing live much ATM, as we're deep into the recording cycle, but if we play in Liverpool you'll be the first to know. It's certainly a possibility at some point in the not-to-distant future, depending on how our current negotiations go...

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Oh, and 'FIBUA', 'Cold Hands', 'Black Cloud' and maybe 2 others will be available to buy in a few months time, once again, pending negotiations which are currently ongoing.

Well I may be able to get to Manchester for a show, it isn't too far away after all

Can't wait for new stuff... I've finished listening all the way through the album and I'm most of the way through the remix album now - Fantastic stuff, I'll be recommending it to friends as soon as the opportunity presents itself

Pretty cool, i liked the last 45 seconds and i found myself drawn to the bass. The fact everything is very easy on the ears (crosses fingers that the generalistation goes unnoticed) is still a bit foreign to me, probably why i liked the last bit from 'Black cloud' and 'fibua' as it was more in my comfort zone.

Oh btw did you have to mime for the video? I always think pop stars must feel right prats when they have to do it. Its the main reason i'm not a superstar, Obviously.

Cool, thanks for checking it out. Our bass-player will be thrilled, though in truth it has proved me right - the bass was loud enough, after all!

Nah, it originally started off as a live recording of us playing in the studio, but we had so many takes that in the end we just decided to cut it together with some footage of weird mentalists and slap the finished studio version over the top, which is why some parts are out of synch.. Miming would be weird though. Never done it yet, as the video for 'Cold Hands' (with the brass band) was recorded live originally too.

Bit of press:

Dresden don’t do radio friendly intros, neatly packaged 3 minute consumables, or fashionable haircuts for that matter. In fact, they are a marketing man’s worst nightmare. I can already hear them screaming, songs too long, too old, too fat, too…. Oh f%*k it, hand me the revolver.

What they do deliver however, are epic slices of melancholic indie with a defibrillated heart and electronic soul. Caught somewhere between Elbow and Ultravox, ‘Cold Hands’ is a beautiful song that showcases Ryan Magee’s vocals alongside the band’s sense for the dramatic. From wistful beginnings the song builds to a climactic barrage of strings and guitar that demands a much bigger stage, before drifting to a close.

The use of percussion and lazy bass on the introduction of new song ‘Black Cloud’ has a touch of Massive Attack about it, with Magee’s vocals (when they finally arrive) set a little deeper in the mix and veiled with effects, think Ian Brown. The chorus is once again anthemic and the outro of Magee’s simple yeah yeah yeah’s fighting for supremacy with reverb-laden guitars seems a suitable way to end.

All in all it’s the sort of music that needs to be heard on headphones or in arenas and probably nowhere in-between. Either way, it’s the best thing to drop into our in box for a while.

Just to let you all know, this evening we signed a singles deal with local up-and-coming indie label Longevity Records here in Manchester. Nothing too massive, but hopefully it'll be a great stepping-stone for our career. The first single will be entitled 'FIBUA' and will be released in a couple of months.

Thankyou all for your support - it made this possible.

It's the 28th of March already? I missed my birthday! :(

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

We've remixed and polished it up a little, plus we're having it professionally mastered. It won't be massively different, just a little crisper, louder and heavier.

Thanks for your comments everyone!

Hi chaps - it's the first of the month, so here's a new youtube clip!

It's an early acoustic demo of a song called 'Body in the Water', which we still play, but is now VERY different. Believe it or not, we used to be a folk band...

I'm liking it, is it just me or are you singing quite differently in that song?
