So I'm doing something stupid: starting a Net Epic army (or two so I can force people to play)

I know there are official minis for most of the armies, but what do I use for:

Slaan

Eldar Exodites

Necrons

Tau

and maybe, just maybe:

Smurfs?

Are there any companies out there that cater to those of us who want to play low volume dying games?

hm... there are few proxies available, for necrons I think Dark Realm Miniatures does pretty good innfantry, but not sure if it was them or not...

For Tau excellent range is offered by Plasmablast games from Greece... you would have almost thought they did it on purpose

Mind you, All Tau flyers and skimmers are still available from Forgeworlkd, so between the two you should be able to do it ..
Otheriwse... converting is your friend mate

I suggest checking Tactical Command forum, plenty of folks there that should be able to help as well.

Yeah. Tac-Command is an awesome resource for this stuff.

I apparenlty have 100 trays of old Space Marines on their way from my good friend eBay. And I just found a place that does Eldar exodites.

Dear god... Soon I'll have Ultra Marines fighting dinosaurs.

Two common 6mm alternatives are

Dark Real Miniatures (I think you meant the Kraytonian lizard riders for eldar exodites)
Exodus Wars (space robots and dwarves)

From Mircroworld. But thanks for the heads up on Exodus wars. I'll need to check them out for Squats.

"You smell dat? Do you smell dat? Napalm, son. Nofing else in da galaxy smells like dat. I love da smell of napalm in da morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for twelve hours. When it was all over I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' 'ummie body. Da smell, you know dat gasoline smell, da whole hill. Smelled like... victory."

If you can find them, the old Epic chaos androids make perfect Necron warriors. An existing Necron Scarab would make a passable tomb spider, too.

GW used to sell Tau and Kroot for Epic. Alas, they don't anymore. You could always mail them and see if they can do some sort of special order. Dunno if they'll pour new stuff but perhaps they have some old bits lying around somewhere. Worst they can do is say, "No."

Smurfs? As in Ultramarines? You should be able to find tons of old stuff on eBay still, even after all these years.
