Subject: Question about passing abilities to attached units

With the new FAQ, a unit possessing a special rule can confer its special rule on attached ICs and vice versa. That being said, my question is this:
Can a Tyranid Prime or even a Hive Tyrant/Swarmlord be attached to a group of Ymgarl Genestealers and just 'appear' in the middle of an enemy?
Can the TP or HT/SL be attached to a regular Genestealer squad and Outflank?

IIRC the faq only addressed stealth equiv, but the BRB does state that beings the stealers have X and the Prime doesnt they'd lose X

Fedral - for Outflank see the statement in the USR abotu "*" USRs and what happens when characters with // without the USR join units with / without the USR. So no, you cannot have a non-Scouts or Infiltrate IC join a unit with those USRs and have them still outflank.
In addition Ymgarls only allow Ymgarls to appear from nowhere, that ability is not conferred in any way shape or form. See page 48 which deals with ICs.
In addition: The HT can NEVER join a non-TG unit, as he is NOT an IC.

Thanks, a friend implied that such was the case and my Orks were NOT looking forward to the Swarmlord 'appearing' in the middle of my Lootaz.

yea ... his major flaw would be the fact the swarmlord does not have the IC special rule

Not to beat this into the ground, but I thought this was worth addressing, as it's the faulty premise that the entire argument was based on.
The FAQ doesn't suddenly allow special rules to be conferred where they weren't before. It clarifies that Stealth applies to the entire unit, even if some individual members of the unit don't have the rule themselves... but it does this because of the specific wording of the Stealth rule.
It's not a rules change, or a blanket allowance to apply special rules where they shouldn't otherwise apply. It's a clarification that the wording of one particular rule means exactly what it appears to mean.

To answer your questions: No and no.
Trygon rpimes, HTs, Swarmlords are all NOT ICs, they cant join any of those squads.
