The game will eventually have combined Land, Sea, and Air interactions although right now all that's being released is ships--frigates, cruisers, battleships and faction carriers.

Does anybody have experience with Spartan Games previous systems, Uncharted Seas or Firestorm Armada? I absolutely love the look of the models and what I've read of the other SG rules systems seems more-or-less favorable (although I figure if I've put up with GW rules for years, nothing else could be worse >.>').

Thoughts/comments welcome, if anybody feels a desire to discuss. Warstore Black Friday sell will net you the rules, the cards, and an entire starter fleet + Carrier for less than $100 USD shipped, which seems a great entry point for a new system.

I'm a fan of Firestorm Armada. The rules are more akin to BFG than to Full Thrust (for those who know spaceship combat), but otherwise they're simple enough while providing good depth. Plus there's no codex creep shenanigans. The models are great, though they had a lot of miscasts during their first production runs for FA, but its all cleared up now. That and they'll probably release some kind of starter set battleforce, which is always a great buy. Your best bet is to get a starter kit from them for whatever game you like most, and start playing. Worst case scenario is that you're left with a bunch of beautiful models.

In summary, I like them a lot, they show good promise.

I like what they've show so far.

You know what would make this a "must-buy" for me? City terrain. If I could have a zeppelin battle with Big Ben as a terrain feature, I'd be all over this.

Right now they make terrain for both Uncharted Seas and Firestorm Armada.

I hope that's some indication of terrain for Dystopian Wars.
