Pardon my ignorence,
1. Some heros count as bsbs
2. Bsb heros die and get captured if their unit breaks from combat?
3. Do those heros (slaan/greasus/gorbad) also stand and die if their unit breaks?

Yes. If they count as the BSB, the rules in all cases say they act as the BSB and you can't take another BSB. Part of the rules of being a BSB is Death if you break from Combat.

What heroes or lords count as a BSB? I know there are heroes that have rules that say failed Break tests or leadership tests can be rerolled within 12 inches of the character, but that's different than being counted as a BSB.

As far as Slaan BSB goes i know for a fact he dies due to last stand, but then again he donsen't count as a BSB he is the BSB.

The slaan, and the two special characters the OP listed.
Throgg, lets monsters re-roll break tests, but he's not a BSB, so no last stand for him.

I can't think of any others that do double duty.
