So I decided to strip every mini I have (not that many lol) for my Biomechanical build. There was one little guy I just couldn't bring myself to get rid of though. He was the first mini I finished after coming back from a 10 year hiatus from paints and modeling. By far not a "good" project, but at the time I was going through alot of personal crap. I think some of that emotion transfered to this little POS.

Anyone else have mini's that kinda suck but they just love anyway?

Yeah, I wanted to sacrifice my average looking librarian to build the Black Templars Reclusiarch pictured on the Helsreach novel, but I couldn't bring myself to do it.

The Imperium using advanced technology is like drinking Pepsi out of a Coke bottle.

Yes. This guy:

I started painting it back in 1998 or something like that to use w/ my (never finished) Orc & Goblin army. I finished it in May of 2000 but it was a rush job and I don't even have the rest of that army anymore. I would really like to strip / GS convert / repaint him in a much darker and corrupted WoC list way, but I can't. Above and beyond anything else it is connected to a time in my life that I want to remember and ripping this guy apart with no guarantee that he'd even make it off the Shelf of Shame again... I'd sooner he stay in these colors and just be a display model.

Most of my stuff.

My clubmates urge me to strip them and start again.

Yet these people don't even have their OWN armies painted.

I'll be the first to admit they aren't anywhere near GD quality.
My minis have to please none but me.
I don't have any need to compete with GD level.
Three colour tabletop is fine by me.

If it looks like it is supposed to from 3' away, it's a good one.

I don't do dioramas with gaming figures (the only time when close-up IS important).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

I've recently sold two armies. I've kept one model of each as a keepsake.

The Wraithlord from my Eldar army (and the first model I was really proud of ever). It isn't all that well painted, there is pretty much no shadowing or highlights, just drybrushed green and blacklined white, but it does include my first ever successful freehand.

And one of these skeleton archers from my former Undead Dark Elf army. The entire 2250 point army was painted in about 2 months, so the standard wasn't all that high.
