What is the ideal way to kit out a squad of 10x Ork Nobz?
I'm trying to take advantage of wound allocation, in addition to having it be competitive and balanced.
Here's what I have as an idea for right now... what would you change, and why?
Thanks all!
..........
1x Painboy w/ Grot Orderly
1x Nob w/ Power Klaw, Combi-Skorcha & Waaagh! Banner
1x Nob w/ Power Klaw & Combi-Skorcha
1x Nob w/ Power Klaw & TL Shoota
1x Nob w/ Big Choppa & Combi-Scorcha
1x Nob w/ Big Choppa, Combi-Scorcha & Bosspole
1x Nob w/ Big Choppa & TL Shoota
1x Nob w/ Choppa & Combi-Skorcha
1x Nob w/ Choppa & TL Shoota
1x Nob w/ Choppa & Slugga

I roll with:
1. Painboy
2. Slugga/Choppa
3. Slugga/Choppa + Bosspole
4. Kombi-Skorcha
5. Big Choppa
6. Big Choppa + Bosspole
7. Big Choppa + Waaagh! Banner
8. Power Klaw
9. Power Klaw + Bosspole
10. Power Klaw + Kombi-Skorcha
All with Cybork Body; I personally don't bother with 'Eavy Armour - saves a few points.
Do take into account how easily you'll be able to model all this wargear - your Nob with Klaw/Skorcha/Banner might be a bit of a pain!

I usually roll with 5 nobz , but this is how i would set up 10.
1) Painboy w/'Evy Armor, Cybork Armor
2) Nob w/ PK, 'Evy Armor, Cybork Armor
3) Nob w/ PK, Combi-Skorcha, 'Evy Armor, Cybork Armor
4) Nob w/ PK, Combi-Rokkit, 'Evy Armor, Cybork Armor
8) Nob w/ PK, Combi-Shoota, 'Evy Armor, Cybork Armor
5) Nob w/ Big Choppa, Evy Armor, Cybork Armor
6) Nob w/ Big Choppa, Combi-Skorcha, 'Evy Armor, Cybork Armor
7) Nob w/ Big Choppa, Combi-Rokkit, 'Evy Armor, Cybork Armor
8) Nob w/ Big Choppa, Combi-Shoota, 'Evy Armor, Cybork Armor
9) Nob w/ Choppa, 'Evy Armor, Cybork Armor
10) Nob w/ Choppa, Combi-Skorcha, 'Evy Armor, Cybork Armor
11) Nob w/ Choppa, Combi-Rokkit, 'Evy Armor, Cybork Armor
The reason I always take Evy armor and cybork armor. this is my hardest hitting squad in the army, I want to protect them as much as possible.

That's 12 Nobz!
I'm not keen on Kombi-Rokkits to be honest...good 'ole Ork BS2 fails them most of the time.
I don't think there is a right or wrong answer to the 'Eavy Armour question. In my experience, when 'abusing' the would allocation rules like this, your opponent will generally resort to aiming all of his high strength, low AP weapons at your Nobz in order to instant kill them and ignore Feel No Pain. Against such weapons, a 4+ save is useless and you get a 5+ anyway with Cybork bodies. 'Eavy Armour for a whole squad costs 50 points as well! You could get another 2 Nobz for that.

Do all 10 have to be different in order to abuse the wound allocation?

To abuse it properly yes!
Your opponent will have to inflict 11 wounds (excluding instant death) before you even lose a model.
The rulebook (p.26) explains it quite well (and actually uses Ork Nobz as the example).

Ork Nobz are great for abusing the wound allocation system. The above posters have covered all wound allocation issues but i would also include these guidlines: Don't include more than 4 PKs as these should be enough anti-armour and you don't want your unit all striking at I1; big choppas where you can, that +2S boost is great for 5pts, though you may have to drop some for wound allocation purposes; cybork bodies and 'eavy armour are both valid choices, though i tend to stray away from having both, especially in smaller point games.
Fianlly @orkyben, are you even allowed to take more than one bosspole?

Globzog, you say you run 5 nobs. I am looking to run 5 as well. What do you typically run. Here are my thoughts:
1) Painboy with cybork
2) Nob w/PK, combi-shoota
3) Nob w/BigChoppa, Waaagh Banner
4) Nob w/Big Choppa, Combi-Shoota
5) Nob w/Choppa, combi-shoota
6) Nob w/Choppa, combi-shoota
All have cybork armour
I would also have my warboss running with this crew. He'd have a PK and combi-shoota
Your thoughts? I am not sure about combi-weapon selections

My rule of thumb is whatever size squad i take, give 1/2 (rounded up) PK's and use combi-weapons to make them diverse. Give the rest Big Choppas and use combi weapons to make them diverse. I think the general consensus is that the Skorcha is the best combi weapon give the orks BS skill. Other than that, the shoota and rokkit are there purely as a mechanism to diversify the squad for would allocation. Causing wounds with them is just a bonus

For 5 I like this.
1)Painboy
2)PK
3)PK,Combi Skorcha
4)BC
5)BC,Waaagh! Banner
Or something to that effect. Cheap and killy.
Also, I think this should be in the Tactics section.
