So this is today's featured item - a Space Wolves battleforce. Unlike the other battle forces, it has a drop pod as the dedicated transport.
Please lock this if turns out this is not news, but I don't think I've yet seen this.

Your avatar is an A-10 wearing a Santa hat. That's like a free pass against posting redundant threads, I think.

Whats your views on this battleforce in general compared to the others that are available?
25 troops isnt bad but would a tank be better then the DP?

Might merit some discussion so I'm going to move this to 40K general.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all

Well, at least there was something to salvage here.
I have both drop pods and Rhinos, and this is just me, but I like the rhinos better. I know it won't scatter off the board, and after the embarked marines go off to do stuff, the rhino can be used for all sorts of things - maybe take something out with an H/K if present, mow down targets of opportunity like a few orks, and contest objectives if need be. They both have their place, but if I had to pick one, I think I'd go with a rhino.

The perks of this BF is that you get 20 Wolves, which has so much conversion and modelling potential
Slightly on a tangent: you can make the whale bones after a KFC dinner =)

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

I bandwagon jumped into Wolves recently I'll admit it. And I picked up two of these boxed sets. I'm personally a big fan of drop pods which made it even more attractive to me. 20 troops which can be made into Wolf Guard, Blood Claws, or Grey Hunters awesome!
Sprues themselves have some awesome features and some negatives no flamers or melta guns :(. But a plasma gun and like 4 plasma pistols each. Two extra chest sections per 10man unit tons. Lots of extra heads and other bits. Thunder Hammers, Storm Shields, Lightning / Wolf Claws, Power / Frost weapons and chain swords aplenty to go around.
One of the best Battleforces Box sets out there imo.
5 Scouts which a lot of people forget are actually an elite choice in Codex: Space Wolves. I haven't played scouts with them yet but I plan to in my next game and see how they do.
