Why is it that the only thing I can think is "wait a second, he gets ordered to prison on the taxpayer dime for failure to pay taxes on $37 million worth of income?".

Would assume that he won't just be serving the sentence, but will be paying the outstanding tax (no fines?) possibly expenses?

He was sentenced several years ago but has been fighting it in court for some time. Time ran out and I doubt they are feeling all that generous after being dragged through the process. They will still get any money by taking all his stuff and he gets some time in jail.

It still doesn't make any sense.
They couldn't get a solid case to nail Capone on all the vicious crimes they knew he had a part in, but couldn't prove, so instead they nailed him with the stuff that jury tampering and witness tampering couldnt derail - taxes.
Wesley Snipes didn't pay his taxes, period, and that's what he's in trouble for. There's no correlation between the two.

Had he shut up he would be out about now, three years sentence doesn't mean three years time.

I'm a Cancerian, and I always pay my taxes on time, so that proves it is a Scorpio thing.
I did accidentally commit benefit fraud a few years ago though. Is that an equivalent trait for Cancerians?
