Anyone know of a website that sells forge world products for cheaper (no matter how slight) prices the the site itself? (I hope this doesn't violate any forum rules...)

Forgeworld does not do wholesale of any type, so you won't find a discount anywhere, unless it's a used model.

Check ebay. I see a good amount of new/unused FW stuff on there. Its usually smaller stuff, but some of the larger things can be had now and then...however the big stuff is usually assembled and painted.

Whats my game?

Song of Blades & Heroes

I have only ordered one FW thing not from FW itself, an Imperial Thunderbolt pilot off of ebay. If it was a knockoff, I sure don't care it was a perfectly intact and detailed model, had less flash then the other stuff I ordered from FW that's for sure!

You really have to keep your eyes open and look regularly though, really good deals are few and far between.

A lot of times I see FW stuff on eBay going for MORE than the FW price - haven't yet worked out why that is...

Quicker gratification, possibly put together so you don't have to clip, wash, sand, fill, magnetize, wash, paint, strip, wash, wash, paint the model.

I find the forgeworld resin difficult to paint as well as GW plastics even after washing... alot. Why can't they produce these excellent miniatures in the standard GW plastics?

Because that would cost a ton of cash (although really things like death korps and elysians would sell like hotcakes) and loss of details

I used to have that problem. Then I learned to wash them better. Use an old toothbrush, and soap and really scrub them.

Ever since I started doing that, I've had 0 problems with painting resin.

Or plastic Tallarn, or Valhallans. Those four factions of Guard would be all over the place if they would make them out of plastic.

Unfortunately No. Even on ebay you will find that the winning bid of a forge world item is basically identical to retail price, sometimes even more. Much like GW, Forge World acts as if their models are gods gift to the world or something!

In the US, some people don't semm to realize that currency rates change, and still think that GPB isalways 2x the USD.

Its easy enough to get FW stuff cheap in trade or on eBay, if you're patient about it, bid your maximum fair price and forget about it, give it a month or three and you'll eventually win an auction other folks didn't bid up to craziness (or get a good trade).

If GW doesn't recognize it, why should we?

Is it awful that I get giddy when the GPB is 1.5 USD?

Unfortunately the exchange rate is the only way you'll get anything cheaper from Forgeworld. I'd say unless it's dirt cheap you should probably just save up the cash and buy directly from FW as at least then you're guaranteed to get a FW piece and not something someone else has cast which may be of lower quality.
