Hello all, I'm not 100% certain if this is new, but the guy in the store said that they had only just arrived (yes, I went into a GW store, and bought something, Maelstrom forgive me!). It's Forge World Imperial Armour books. They had IA7 and 8 plus IA Apoc II and their aim is to eventually stock all the IA books. Up until this point I had only ever seen IA Apoc I and I think the Painting Masterclass book, so this is a big step for Australian retailers. It's not all good news though, as it seems the curse of Australian prices has followed the FW books here as well. About AUD$110 for IA7, where it costs AUD$70 to get it from FW. IA Apoc II was only $45-ish bucks, which is $14 more than buying it from the UK. Granted, there are considerable shipping issues when the weight of FW books is taken into account, but at best we might find that they're the same price. It's a shame that buying locally is the same price if not more expensive than buying overseas + shipping even for these books. But yeah - FW books now a permanent part of the range in GWOZ stores. Yay... kinda. [EDIT]: IA7 + IA8 + IA Apoc II = AUD$201 (assuming the FW site is correct where it says shipping is 15% of the order price). From GWOZ that lot would cost AUD$265-ish. Just FYI.

The ability to buy FW books at 140-160% of retail is pretty much useless, unless you're planning on importing them yourself and undercutting GWAU's prices. At best it might convince some primitive, online store-fearing opponents that Forgeworld stuff is okay.

Hmm. First the stores in the US and selling them via the main website, and now down in OZ? Looks like GW is starting to make a serious FW push to get the books out and start selling more of them. Interesting, and very welcome. I'm sick of people hating on Forge World and Imperial Armour because they had a mystical, nigh-obtainable status about them.
Now make it so they'll start selling actual FW models in the stores, and that'll really be neat.

It's complicated."

That last part is unlikely. Shelf space is a rare commodity... and, let's be honest, FW items aren't exactly packaged with a "Look at me! Buy me!" aesthetic in mind.

Sadly true, but it would be a lovely development. I just want a way for FW stuff to become more accessible, and the IA being sold via GW directly is a big step towards that. I hope they continue with it and that it sells decently.

When I had gone to the Chicago Battle Bunker, they had let me go into the back storeroom and they had a whole 10-15 foot tall shelf full of forge world boxes. Very random assortment of things to buy, but nonetheless FW items in the store, ready to purchase.

I've got them on my shelves now for a couple of months, makes me very happy. Since they are on the GW website, I can do a 'bitz order' and have them shipped in as a special order. Very cool to be able to stock them.

It is awsome, but as HBMC states... much more expensive to buy from GW in OZ
However, FW has a free delivery option... about AU$450 worth of order... this makes the FW purchace price very interesting for the 'Collectors' who want them all
But for those in OZ who want individual books, now is the time
My local GW store stated that they cannot (ATM) order any particular volume in... they get an assortment on delivery and make do from the shelf
but, none the less, FW books in OZ... happy times mate

Yeah, if you've got a group of friends, gather together and do big joint FW orders to get the free shipping. Saves a bunch vs prices here.
