Is there a limit to how many Swarms a Tomb Spider can create? I know that a certain number makes the TS take a wound but if I would keep getting good rolls can I make Near infinite?

IIRC it's only 1 per turn ... however I don't have the codex on me atm.
And its a wound if you roll a 1

Yea I know about the number Just wasn't sure if allowed to post due to Copyright issues. Some websites very. So yea if I play a regular 6 turn game I can have 6 if I roll good numbers is what I think, wasn't sure if any reason not to have this happen or if there were any things that would backfire.

You can make one every turn you are not in close combat or dead. Making more than one base changes the entire unit to T3 though so I'd stick with one (and T6 for the unit).

Yeah if you didn;t roll any 1's then you could have 6, only downside i know of is that if you have 2+ swarms it means any unit shooting or assaulting would wound you on the swarms toughness of 3 since it would be in the majority and since you have to designate wounds evenly as possible it means if a large group attacks your TS unit then its easier to wound the tougher TS, if you however only had 1 swarm then you use the highest toughness so the swarm would count as toughness 6 and with 3 wounds its very nice to have.

getting cover with it's pretty nice though as its a swarm and should be easy to obscure it so the TS gets an uber cover save

Actually IIRC anything that has the swarms rule cannot provide intervening cover

They're not providing intervening cover... The Scarabs form a unit with the TS. So he doesn't get a cover save because they're in the way... he benefits from the improved save that the Scarabs get from being a Swarm, because cover saves apply to the unit on a majority basis.

In other words the Swarms rule infers the Stealth rule and if one model in a unit has this they all benefit from the +1 cover save.

Doesn't the tomb spyder still have to be 50% obscured to claim cover at all, being an MC? Or is it just a majority of the models in the unit that need to be in cover?
Never really played with MC's before on my side or an opponent's so I'm quite a bit rusty here, sorry.

A majority of the models in a unit have to be in cover for the unit to be in cover. Once the unit is in cover, every model in the unit counts as being in cover.
MCs and vehicles have to be 50% covered to be counted as in cover in terms of how they count for the unit being in cover. But, they actually get a save or not depending on how the unit's status ends up.
Example: A squad of 5 guys joined by 2 MCs (so, 4 required in cover for the squad to get the save). 3 of the guys are in area cover, 2 are in the open. 1 of the MCs is blocked on 25% of the model, the other MC is blocked on 75% of the model.
You have 3 guys + 1 MC being in cover, 2 guys + 1 MC not being in cover. A majority of the squad is in cover, so they all get saves.

That's good to know; making a single swarm isn't a waste of time.
3+ cover is pretty good. Too bad the spider isn't good for much while hiding in the back with his 3+ cover.
Anyone try spamming spiders? The W2 seems to be the real limiting factor.
