Does anyone know how to make Catachan troops less 'Rambo-ey'?

Must say I love snipers and those catachan ones look nice. And they count as troops even though they should be elite.

Generally to me Catachan - Rambo = Cadians. What kind of theme/look are you going for? That will help us possibly point you in the direction of model replacements.

may take a fair bit work and GS but im guessing sculpting some helmets on em would reduce the ramboness quite a bit or even just cadian heads.

Try wrapping the arms up in a thin layer of green stuff to give them sleeves, helmets would make them look better too.

You can try shaving off their bandannas, but I don't know why you'd get Catachans with the intent to make them less... Catachan.

Other than ditching the catachans and just doing cadians, I'd say paint them less rambo'ey! You could do a more urban paint scheme, blues and greys.

Such as...

(couldn't find catachans)

I have a bunch of Catachans that were turned into "Swat" guys. Generally the faces had a little smoothing done, while the rest of the guys were just painted in a camo/black coloring. It made it look like there were just wearing some tight BDU shirts. Then the smoothed faces had balacalvas painted over them.

I would go for the west wind trooper heads with steel helmets if your looking to go more vietnam USA on them. are you still looking to use them as catachan's? or are you just looking for a viable and easy to aquire alternative to cadians? I saw some fierce looking techy guardsmen on one of the websites linked in the "resorces for conversion and detail modeling"

Thats what I was thinking a playes as imperial guard Mars/Adeptus Mechanicus expidition force they are meant to send out such forces whenever they hear solid rumors of ancient tech or stc technology but 40+euro for ten man squad what is that in proper english money anyhow

Don't get me wrong if I had the funds or if my lottery numbers finaly come good I will concider it money well spent but I'm wondering if companies like this one charged a smaller price wether they'd make more money in the long run by selling in greater numbers

Thanks again people, im probably will go with the vietnam look. I just looked at a UH-1 Huey, the transport they used and it sounded like a good idea for a converted valkyrie.
Anyone have any ideas?
