To me, the internet is...
Freeing, yet limiting. Think about it. You can do most things online now, but it's less interaction outside or face to face (and yes, I am an outdoorsy person, so this is slightly biased).
I have so many others, but I want to hear what dakka has to say, see if any of my others come up.

It's also for porn, gaming, purchasing, chatting, publishing, and more or less nearly anything you could do yourself, with the exception or stuff like ordering takeout.
Now if I could have a pizza delivered through my modem, I would be set.
