Hi all,

After about 8 years away from Warhammer I decided with a buddy of mine to start collecting again about a year ago. I was after an elite, small model count (partly because I didnt want to spend loads and paint loads, but mostly because thats the kind of army style I like) army to wage war with. I decided on the inquisition and then after a little bit more thought, I got rid of the squishy humans and settled on pure Grey Knights.

The first additions to my army where regular power armour troops.

I didn't want to go with the regular silver Grey Knights as I figured Grey Knights would be Grey, I also wanted to move away from the red and gold colour scheme and went with green and silver instead. Although these guys are not quite finished, I don't really have any other plans for them as I am waiting for the shiny new models to be released in March (fingers crossed). I have changed the colour scheme of my army to darker now, so when the new models come out they will be painted in the new colours.

The next addition was a couple of dreadnoughts, as I mentioned above I changed the colour scheme as I decided that the light grey was to light and not fearsome enough. I mixed up a new grey and tried it out on the dreads.

I made a right hash of the Plasma Cannon, tried my hand at green stuffing it, however green stuff and I didn't get along and now my Plasma Cannon needs to be replace. I am pretty happy with the new dark colours, not sure why I prefer it but I do.

I am pretty happy with the Las Cannon Dread, it feels like there may be some more bits to do but I think he looks pretty cool.

I have also managed to get my hands on a load of terminators, I am really excited about the new PAGK's but I love these old Terminator models, I think they are my favorite GW model set so I am gathering as many as I can. (Also rumours of a HQ choice making GKT's troop choices so I need more )

I have been working on the same dark grey as the Dreads, I think that it is noticable against the black without being to light.

This is the test model (on the only fancy base I have), I think he has turned out alright, again I tried to steer away from the red and gold look with a green and white look.

Termys are my project for the next few weeks, hopefully I will have some more updates to put up soon. And there may be a Land Raider Crusader sitting around somewhere too.

Thanks for looking

Luke

A strange place

Nice looking models. I also like the darker colour, the first grey was kind of meh.

Keep on posting.

I'm liking the new color scheme. I haven't seen the old ones in person, but the new ones look sick. Can't wait to see them in person.

So as I wave goodbye to the Christmas holidays I thought I would add an update of where the army is at. First thing to note is that the crusader that I got from ebay was horrible, so much globby thick paint on it that I have resigned to using it to play test, and as soon as I can afford a new one, buy one.

My sister bought me a Godhammer land raider for Christmas though, so I have been busy painting it, its nowhere near finished but here are some pics:

Its not stuck together, just balanced all of the bits to make it look semi built for the pics. I have loads of the rare earth magnets to magnetize everything on it and once it is fully painted I will set about sticking and magnetizing it.

Next is a quick update on the termies, they have sooooo many fiddly bits to paint, they are taking ages, but they are coming along:

And lastly, here is the army as it stands, I know that I have 4 heavy options but that is more for the flexibility of multiple builds.

These dudes are actually doing alright, currently they are 3 wins 0 draws and 0 losses in the local gaming store campaign (although my opponents have really struggled with lots of 1's on the damage chart for the crusader.) its a 750pts campaign that moved upto 1k.

750 list was:
GM with psycannon and master crafted NFW 190
2 x 1 Justicar and 4 GK 300
LRC 255
Total 745pts

1k list was the same with a Godhammer raider and extra armour (One of the guys lent me his LR so I didnt have to proxy).

Looking real nice! Your edge highlights on the tank and minis are so crisp!! The white is a nice bright contrast to an otherwise blue-gray army.

My old tau were painted in a similar color scheme.

I wanted to spice up the PAGK a little before the new codex release as money is a bit tight so I wont be buying an entire plastic army. I wanted a new colour to add to the mix and went with yellow, I know the NFW are basic but they will do for me I think.

The rest of the squad are WIP.

They are done using the uniform grey from the army painter and quickshade/anti shine spray. I wanted the colour scheme simple so it doesnt take me forever to have a painted army after April. Feedback welcome.

Luke

The first few models looked a bit meh, possibly because of the photo, but your terminators and the new PA GKs are beautiful. The green blades on their force weapons are really, nice.

I actually have 5 Metal GK Termies sitting in a box at my house, they're looking for a new home. PM me if you're still looking for more.

Looking forward to seeing more pics and hearing about your progress

Very nice. I like the yellow. Are you doing that army-wide, or is that like squad markings? The almost blurry highlight on the weapons is really nice too.

I just hope they're ready to be taken out by the Blood Angels come May

Hi all, thanks for reading and thanks for the nice comments, its really encouraging.

So not a huge update this time but all 10 of the PAGK are pretty much done, simple bases, a couple need a touch up on silver and brown for the bags, but otherwise they are done.

I will take some better pictures in the morning when it is nice and bright outside and my camera doesn't need to flash but until then here are a couple of pics of the revamped PAGK squads:

These are the same as above but based, and here are all 10:

They look a bit shiny but thats mostly due to poor lighting and having to use the flash.

Comments and critiques welcome!

Looking real nice Luke. It's a shame there's only like four different models.

The lines on the armor are so crisp and clean.

Yeah it is a shame that there are so few models, Its not so noticeable in the 750pts games I play as I can only afford to run 2 squads of 5 so only 1 duplicate in each, Notice the different arm positions and leaning of similar models variety huh. Plastic ones will come out soon and then GK will have variance.

Hey guys, as promised I have some slightly better pics, they are just of one model so you can see a little more detail. The bases where super easy, I cut up an old wine bottle cork for the large rock, some gravel for the small rocks and some static grass/flock. I sprayed the bases black, then a light spray of grey and a lighter spray of white, put on the models then the grass, 10 mins for the whole operation pretty much. I am pretty happy with how they turned out:

I have also gotten near to finishing my GHLR, the LC are magnetised, my first attempt at magnetising and it didn't turn out too bad.

And another WIP is my converted Eversor assassin, made from a dark elf corsair with a pistol stuck to him ( huge conversion right there!!):

And I got a chance to do a little more to him:

Critiques and comments welcome, thanks for looking.

Loving the Justicar, although the yellow/green is a bit unusual. Unusual is just another word for unique, however, and unique is just another word for good.

Never seen anyone choose a different model than the official Eversor Assassin, since it is very well done, but I really like the idea of using a fantasy model and adding small bits to make it work.

Really like the basing too, the use of cork is interesting, I shall have to drink more wine in future!
