A few pictures to demonstrate how twisted these folks are. I'm not sure if these violate the "family friendly" rules on Dakka, but if so I'll be more than happy to edit the post. I think that these people are really really horrible and awareness of them needs to be raised. They started out picketing the funerals of dead US soldiers with signs like "Thank God for IED's". In their view the death of American citizens is God's revenge for our enablement of a homosexual lifestyle. I know they are protected under the freedom of speach, but my GOD I hate admitting that they have a right to their views. I just wish we could figure out a way to keep them from wrecking the last memory many folks have of their loved ones.













TLDR for lazies, the "God hates Fags" folks are at it again this time planning to picket the funeral of Elizabeth Edwards with wonderful signs like "Thank God for breast cancer".

I'd love to reverse picket these people sporting the impeccable fashion of riot armor and a Louisville Slugger. Words are wholly inadequate for expressing my loathing for this group of people, not in the least because they are raising their own children on a diet of hate.

Past a point, I wonder if those people are not actually as religiously delusional as they seem on the surface, but instead a fully thought out bunch of chaos worshippers and maybe have some kind of discordian cult of laughing at their own ability to say/do things that are just plain nasty and horrid because they know how much it feths with conventional thinking people. Maybe they are deliberately as beligerant as all they seem, and not as terminally clueless as they come across. Scary thought.

hey pete you choose again just pics with more of the goodlooking Westboro Batptist church folks...the ones i always saw are the epitome of their own interbreeding brainlessness...really you american should do something about them...the idea of using heavy sluggers to counter picket them....mom why not use actual picketfences on them...

They are neither. It is a family of lawyers that makes their living suing people by provoking others during moments of extreme emotional disturbance.

The Hell's Angels, Patriot Riders, and several other motorcycle clubs counter picket them. Thats really about all we can do since these folks are VERY good at obeying the absolute letter of the law when it comes to protesting. As I've said many times, its not a crime to be an asshat.

At any rate, religious fanatacism is one thing....its illogical but at least I can understand it. These fethers equate the death of ANYONE with God bringing judgement against the United States because we are "fa g enablers"....IE we don't persecute homosexuals in any official capacity. Thats CRAZY thinking.

I don't understand the point to this particular protest. If you twist Biblical verses enough you can get to cover most of what the Westboro baptists think. However what is her 'sin'?

thats just their one move to make it centerstage...they are a sorry bunch and deep down they know it...thats why they use these sorry methods to get a bit of attention...its a bit like my kids do when they´re desperate of attention, they start acting like idiots to get my attention when i am getting angy and start to scream, some people think that negative attention is better than any attention at all. dont ask me i think thats a lousy thought process and i cant understand it, but you should consider using those terrorism acts you guys use all the time in your tv series like navy csi and the likes and shove the hole gak of to guantanamo bay...

i had some contact with some local evangelistic church folkes here in germany and i dont regret to say that i wouldn´t p+++ss on their face even if it was fully aflame...

She had incurable cancer at the time (its what killed her) and it came out that her husband had knocked up some staffer while his wife was in the hospital.

I have alot of respect for the late Elizabeth Edwards, she was a heck of a woman.

Sadly, it is their right to speak their mind. I wouldn't be sad if a bunch of bikers beat the piss out of them though......personally I think that's why that train their kids to picket. Nobody is going to assault a child holding a sign.

Like really really upser in that 'I didn't know clown costumes were used to rape and murder little kids until I read that' kind of way upset. The whole thing is just a sham on exploiting legalities of free speech for a buck? I want to do... um... Really, I can not understand how their methods are not illegal. I understand the person assaulting them being the aggressor sure, but they are also OBVIOUSLY egging the aggressors on. Maybe its because Im not legal savvy, can some one explain this?

They protested at a funeral in the town I lived in a few years ago because of USM that lived here. I think it got violent if I remember correctly.

No, we don't need to raise awareness about these people. We need to ignore them. GG is right, they are actually really minor, mostly the leaders(forget his name) family and friends.

The problem is, when they draw attention to themselves by doing idiotic things like this. There are many anti religious people who use them as an example to generalize Christians, which is of course not true, but this draws even more attention to them, and all of a sudden they seem like a huge problem.

All they do is misinterpret the Bible, and do pointless(but hate filled) protests. Just stop listening to them and ignore them. That's how you deal with trolls anywhere.

BTW:most of the people in those pictures are kids. No doubt the guy who started all this did the Bible misinterpreting thing I mentioned and got them to believe it since he's a preacher (I assume). It really sucks when people abuse places of power to get others to do what they want, but that always happens, its inevitable.

It's probably legal as they end up all over the news and nothing happens about it. Perhaps some law should be put into place to stop them from doing this, they'd have to go elsewhere for their precious precious attention.
