Meh...it's akin to trying to determine rules for playing 40k directly from the fluff alone. Hell, even when everything is directly spelled out, you have 3 different opinions on how a rule should be played. Now apply that same method to determining RAW for a religion and how to live your life.

I do feel that certain "liberal" Muslims have been successful in passing Islam off as a "religion of peace" and in fact I was kind of snowed a bit myself. Mattrym's dogma expands beyond the Islamic religion. I think he himself has admitted there is very little he doesn't hate.

What I don't understand is that many 'New Age' Christians (enlighten me here) are somehow under the impression that the New Testament renders the directions of the Old Testament null and void. I know Jesus says "He who is without sin cast the first stone" but did he honestly expect this standard to hold up in a court of law? That murderers and rapists (not that the bible mentions rape as a crime so far as I know) and those who break the 10 commandments should be exempt from any retribution by authority on Earth?

That said, didn't he flip out in the Temple/Marketplace?

EDIT: "Flip out" might not be the most accurate ways of describing it.

There's nothing wrong with GG stating that he believes Islam to be a false religion (the exact Christian definition of infidel BTW). You are allowed to state that you believe Christianity is a false religion, why is he not allowed to say the same regarding Islam? So far it has been a relatively civil discussion and I'll thank you to try and keep it that way, Pete.

Now, if he were to say something like "Islam is a religion that breeds only violence and hate so all Muslims should be wiped off the world". THEN we'd have some serious problems.

Fair enough, I was trying to point out that Islam is not inherently more violent than Christianity (and was going to go into conditions in which religion is fostered rather than anything else). It does appear that I changed the subject though. Sorry, mate.

Christianity is a vast religion with many diverse elements to its faith, so it's very easy to cherrypick parts of it to make it out as a faith that encourages oppression and violence. For people looking to create division, and prop themselves up on a pedestal of moral superiority, this can be a very tempting thing to do.

The same is true of Islam.
