Hey guys i recently changed my list up to infantry hoard based off some of the battle ports i read http://ailarian.com/folera/batreps/index.html there thanks Ailaros, has really inspired for this list and to write good fluff for my regiment love his stuff! Really helpful i love the way he uses Al'Rahem and infantry hoards tell me what you guys think about this list. The basic strategy for this list is create solid fire base with P2's heavy weapon squads guarded by there infantry squads who will be posted to defend them/get into defensive positions while the company command squad give heavy weapon teams orders. Then P3 sits in back ready to counter attack in blob form to repulse any linebreakers/ swarm out to take obj. P1 outflanks and is a surprise threat that will help defend and or attack. The scout sentinels will pull forward to support the outflanking platoon and storm troopers are anti tank and drop down into enemy lines to help hold obj. and priests go into P1 and P3 thoughts? Thanks guys! In P1, I would really recommend giving the PCS all melta, and switch the melta in the squads to flamers. The reason being that you can more easily use BiD on the PCS to deliver 3-4 TL Melta shots. I'm not a fan of P2 because if you're going to bring infantry, blob with a commie always, or they'll run away on you. That and the only thing I believe should ever camp are HWTs. But I digress. One little thing...the PCS for P2...swap the HB for at least an AC, they're so much better in every way. The scout sentinels should have either a heavy flamer or autocannon to really make them shine.

I think you're confused about what a platoon standard does. It only gives you a boost in close combat, which you're not likely to win with the PCSs that have them.
I'd do the following...
- replace the regimental standard with another plasma gun (the things you really want to stay on the board are going to have commissars, which don't work with the standard).
- replace Al'Rahem's 2x flamer+heavy flamer with 3x melta guns. Al'Rahem has Bring it Down!, and it would be a shame for it to go to waste with flamers. This is doubly true as the kinds of things you're going to want to shoot with meltaguns are the things that you're going to want your blobs to charge at (crack transports open, blobs feast on goo inside), or you're going to want to charge al'rahem against to ID with his power weapon (MCs).
- get rid of the vox net. I don't really see how you're going to use it, and those 25 points are going to go a long way to getting a commissar in your second infantry platoon.
- replace all your grenade launchers with plasma guns (except in the power blob - just get rid of them). If you need points, get rid of the HB HWS, which is horribly redundant when you've got power blobs running around everywhere. Those 75 points could be well-spent on more guns elsewhere in your infantry.
- speaking of which, those mortars wouldn't be a bad thing to drop in favor of a second russ.
It's got the fundamentals, it's just some of the weapons loadouts that could stand a little optimization.

Power Blobs are freaking sweet, and they look great on the table. I think you've got the basics covered, just try to maximize the total effectiveness of your army. A second LRBT would be pretty good.

Hmmm i like the idea of switching flamers to squads in P2 and giving PCS2 meltas! Will do. About the voxs i thought they would be helpful to get off those orders when you really need them. And The Regimental Banner Lets you re-roll morale tests seems helpful i was going to camp them around P2 HWS and infantry squads to get off BiD.. and again voxs really help get off important orders. And about the platoon standards don't the get plus 1 combat resolution to waht ever combat there in i figured they would be helpful when i charge the whole platoon in to kill. About the mortars i love idea of them and think they hvae lots of potential against my friends hoard orks! But I will get rid of the heavy bolters all around. What do you think i should do with the PCS2? If i drop the Sentinels and HB squad and vox network i can get another russ i believe should i do that? Why do you think i should change all squad grenade launchers to plasma guns? I think grenade launchers are cheap and versatile. Also i plan on running P2 in separate squads to provide protection for HWS/ or use the squads as suicide chargers to buy an extra turn or 2 too shoot.

I ran my blobs with grenade launchers and mortars. I found that for 5 points a pop, being able to toss out 6 to 10 blasts was worth it.
Should you face orks, nids, or enemy blobs, those templates are well worth the 5 points you pay for them. They did wonders against the old dark eldar, and I expect them to still be very good against the new dark eldar.

Yeah I think im going to stick with the grenade launchers i have right now. but we will see after i play test it i guess.
@RinesofGlory the reason i dont kit them out is because im very mobile with my russes and half the time im not able to shoot the expensive sponsons.. Ailaros gave me that build actually haha and i like it so far it doesnt make me feel bad every time i move my russ.

Yes, but commissars handle both of these already.
Yes, a rerollable Ld8 is better than a straight-up Ld9. That said, in the 34 games I've played with power blobs, only ONCE has there been an order that I failed that I really, really wish I hadn't failed. Not really worth it to be spending all those points every game for something that's likely to be useful only very infrequently.
As for the rerolls, summary execution supercedes the standard. Really, it's just there to keep the officers around. Once again, hardly worth it.

That will work until your opponent realises what proper spacing means, at which point, the number of boyz you're going to kill will drop steeply. Plus, they're actually not all that great against most armies, meaning you're going to be spending a basilisk worth of points on something that's only situationally useful (unlike a basilisk, which is always good against SOMETHING).

What's the benefit of cheap and versatile if they're always ineffective against whatever they're shooting at? Instead, it's much better to get a weapon that's at least effective against a range of targets, instead of crappy against all of them. That or take plasma, which is both versatile AND effective.

Thanks you for the response. Hmm i looked up the cost of basilisk which is 125 if i get rid of reg. standard and mortars that mean basilisk! But i really really love the idea of them.. but i dont how much i would love them if they under perform. Hmm ill have to think about it. To be honest i dont know where i can take or what is it 15 points away from so i can get plasmas i would love to switch them out honestly dont know were to get all those points back. By the way i have gotten a lot out of your battle reports tactic articles on your site i love how you have so much fluff too! haha sorry to be so fan boyish but you really have inspired me.

That's what happened to me.
I started out with a list that had 3 3x mortars HWSs and 2 other mortars scattered about, but it didn't take long of them doing nothing before I started phasing them out. 3 mortar squads costs as much as a power blob. Needless to say which I'd rather have...
