Depends on what you're trying to use them for? I used to slap a BOOM! gun on it and go to town. Unfortunately for the "Don't press dat!" rule it made them unpredictable. I guess they would be ok to use on other units other then boyz who need to be transported and if you don't want to shell out the points for a battlewagon.

If you ask a tourny player they will say no, they are garbage. But if you play fun games and the like, they are not garbage. I personally love looted wagons with the BoomGun. When they hit home, they really kick some ass

I second this, they miss their mark a lot due to low BS but being able to wipe out 90% of a tactical squad in one shot is not to be sniffed at.

honestly there is only a 1/6 chance of you not getting to shoot, and if you deploy right, your tank will not rush out into the open, (block it with lootas or something like that. it will not go through friendly units). think of it as a tank that can get hot, just like a plasma canon.
However for 115 pts, (boomgun and closed top) you get an AP 3 large blast with a 36" range. The orks do not have much that can hit on the first turn from a distance. It can be very scary to players who take big units onf power armor on foot, like Long Fangs. Even with a cover save, the long fangs will take some damage if it his home.
so the question is do you want something pretty cheep that might hurt the enemy but might also be useless...

i have a 'Spare' Lemon Russ so i thoght it would be a good idea to convert. Even if it doesnt turn out to be good on the field it would be a fun Conversion to do

I enjoyed converting mine. So much so Im planning on building 2 more so I can make a list with 3 boomguns in it. I figured over saturation of the boomgun would HAVE to make them better then useful
But yea, dont worry about the dont press dat, its pretty rare (same reason I dont get why people are affraid to take a plasma gun) but even still, put something infront of it so it doesnt take off across the field. You still cant fire the gun if you roll a dont press dat, but at least it isnt in the open. And trust me, it takes one time for you to land that template on a unit to make you smile. Its just awesome fun

If you wanna have a good idea for a Conversion with a Leman Rush i have a suggestion for you. A guy on this forum ''Scragglybeard'' has made an awesome conversion with his Leman Rush and a Wartrukk here is what it looks like
Screw this. I don't know how to post a picture. Here is the link instead! http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/161089-Blood%20Axe%2C%20Looted%20Wagon%2C%20Orks%2C%20Trukk.html. Hope this gives some ideas

I am doing the same thing, only I currently am low on funds to get the bits I need to finish 2 of them, but 3 boom guns backed by 3 squads of lootas? Sounds fun to me.

How can you put a price on fielding one of these?

Absolutely, and with very little in the way of guidelines you're pretty free to do whatever you want with them, Hell, 2 of mine are made from Landspeeders.

Pretty much what's already been said. Competitively, they aren't the best. They take up slots that Battlewagons or Kans can use, die to Heavy Bolters/Multi-lasers, and will, on average, experience 1 turn of "rush 12 inches forward and do nothing!" per game.
That said, they most definitely have a nice use. Putting a Battlecannon into an Ork list is nothing to scoff at, especially when it's about half the price as a Leman Russ. For that 125 points though, you lose 1 BS, AV14 front armor, and Lumbering Behemoth. Substantial loses for substantial points.
If I do field them in non-tournament games, I always field 2. Put 1 in each of my back corners, plus a small unit of Lootas with each. Oh yeah... that's some awesome stuff right there. Pop the Rhino with the Lootas, nuke the Marines inside!
