Food for a Giant Fenrisian Wolf

I had a match against a mate of mine with his orcs against my Space Wolves. He claimed that his numbers would simply wash me away.

I had 20 blood claws, 10 grey hunters, 4 wolf guard Terminators, Dreadnought, my Wolf Lord and Logan Grimnar, one long fang.

He had 60 Orc boys, 20 nobs, 3 defkopptas and a warboss.

We played Dawn of War style Annihlation. My original deployement was my Wolf Lord, 10 blood claws and 10 grey hunters. My Wolf Lord was on the bottom floor in a building with my grey hunters on the roof. My blood claws were hidden in cover. He deployed his warboss and 20 boyz. His orcs were in the middle ready to charge.

He went first and charged forward. His orcs all shot and didnt kill anything. My grey hunters shot and killed 2 boys. My Wolf Lord charged the 20 boys and dominated them killing six. The blood claws charged the Warboss and pulled him down screaming. They then consolidated towards the other 18 boyz. The orc boys in combat responded with no damage done. He rolled for reinforcements but got none. I then killed 5 more of his orc boys with my WL. His orc boyz moved towards my blood claws. I rolled for reinforcments and received Logan Grimnar, my other 10 blood claws and my terminators. In my turn in fired into his boyz again killing 3. My WL then procedeed to kill all of his orc boyz. I rolled for reinforcments and got my long fang. My blood claws charged and killed all of the orc boyz. He rolled for reinforcments and recieved 10 Nobz. My other blood claws (Squad Jorgan) moved up and went side by side with my 1st blood claw unit (Squad Nova). My WL charged his Nobs and finished them off!!!! My blood claws and Logan Grimnar moved up as well. He rolled for reinforcments and got his 10 nobz who charged Logan. He then proceded to kill 6. In my turn Logan finished off the Nobz and moved up the board. I also got my Dreadnought. In his turn he got his Deffkoptas. Logan then charged and killed them all.

My WL and Logan both had Saga of the Warriorborn. Logan completed his oath with 13 close combat kills. My WL my man of the match got 30 an impressive tally one that will be Remembered in the legends of the Space Wolves forever!!!

In the end he didnt kill a single of my men and his numbers crumbled against the might of Fenris.

What Points was this? Because I highly doubt you killed all of his things for not a single loss.

I am going to assume that the ork player was just using 3 copies of AoBR and thus his 20 or so nobs were not set up for wound allocation etc if thats the case I wouldnt get to excited id say its your models that won the day not skill.

Damn I cant wait to the GW legal team codex comes out now there is a dex that will conquer all.

I am gussing it was 1500 points?

I would had charged in with A big Mek with shock attack gun, Replace all the boys with shoota boys and had Deff Koptas or better yet MegaNobs on a Trukk!

OR if I am not going with numbers I would had killa kans, Deff Dread, and Mega Armored Warboss with that Big Mek.

Never am a fan of Batreps where the Narrator clearly is promoting his "might" on the table.

Yay - good job SW player dude.

Yeah like this actually happened. let me guess, all the ork player's dice missed the table. what a load of BS
I have NEVER seen a game where someone comes out unharmed in 1v1. i seen a 4 person game where the one guy was completely ignored due to lack of threat... but there's no way in hell you could flawlessly wipe someone in 1v1.

At least not in assault against an army that was made to get stuck in.

There's tons of fishy things going on here. Are yall playing correctly?

For one, Logan can't even get Saga of the Warrior Born. And I don't know if you wrote it correctly, but you had a single (1) Long Fang?

60 boys and 10 nobs failing to kill a single model. This sounds more like one of those 40k novels than a battlereport

Why did he have "one long fang"?

Is that even legal? Can the one long fang even take a heavy weapon?

It depends. You can have 1 long fang, but you also need a squad leader to go with him. And yes, every long fang has to take a heavy weapon.

Were the Ork player's dice weighted to all come up 1s or something?

I concur with the suspicion of something untoward going on.

Also with dawn of war, anything that wasn't put on the table at the beginning automatically rolls in off your table edge on your first turn unless you choose to hold it in traditional reserve.
Also night fighting is first turn which might have cut down ork losses to shooting, and it can continue more turns.

You must understand that for an ork a day that starts off killing something with your bare hands, and ends with those same hands being chopped off in battle, is a good one.

What's betta than one choppa? Two choppas!!! Two choppas is one more than...is one times da...IS LOTS MORE FUN!! WAAAAGH!!!

Reminds me of a game where I went an entire game, Made 30 St 5+ shots at a single model and lost the game with not even making a single wound on any models what so ever.

I was using Tau and my opponent was Using Eldar. It was than I realized that my army was a piece of gak! So I traded it for Orks. Looks like a similar thing happened to him too.
Looks like that Ork player needs to trade his Orks for Some blood angels or Chaos Demons.

Yeah, i agree with the slightly fishy smell, and it's not what i had for tea. I think jubear has a fair point and it could well be that he had a hastily compiled army list with no real thought. Also his tactics seem slightly odd. You mentioned you charged his warboss? So his warboss was roaming around on his own? That's a bit silly if you ask me.

On a slightly related note i also played a SW vs Ork game over christmas, though i was playing as the orks. I have to say it was one of, if not the closest, most exciting games i've played. I had more models on the table and was securely in control of one objective but my opponent still held an objectives with a battered squad of grey hunters. It all came down to one last combat, and actually one last dice roll. A lone nob fought my opponent's rune priest, both on only one wound, in the last combat of the game.

My Nob defeated the rune priest but still needed to roll a 4 or more for consolidation to be able to consolidate within 3" of the objective to contest it, otherwise victory would be snatched from my grasp. Fortunately, for me, the dice came up a 5 and the SW had failed to hold on to their captured stronghold (a bit of narrative for you there). It was a thoroughly enjoyable game and that very same nob now has a space wolf head on his base to remind me he won be the game (though some credit does go to the shoota boyz who had secured to other objective)

Thanks for the Battle rep!
You can ignore all the dinks on this website who just love to bash everyone and everything.
I've played a couple games where I didn't lose a single model so I know it's possible. After all this is a game of dice so anything can happen.
Plus Space wolves seem well suited to fight against Orks.

And yet the OP does not post again. Interesting. I like many of you am calling BS on this one. I was winning a game like this one in the finals for Adepticon while having Jessica Biel and Olivia Wilde blow on my dice before every roll.

Then I woke up.

When in doubt.........Duck!

Even in the far future there can still be heroes...

It is possible to win the game without losing anyone (although unlikely), but even from a glance at the army list, you can see that his list is illegal (you can't take 1 Long Fang) an unbalanced (he easily outnumbered the Orks).

As far as not losing a single model keep in mind he was saying how his wolf lord was single handedly decimating the squads. But he may of just forgot to mention a loss or two. I've played my bike army vs a chaos demons list 1863, I was in the process of tabling him after and he called the game.. I had lost 2 bikes.... just saying, its possible and was just not mentioned.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Though I am wondering, his squads were around 10 in size... minimal.. even killing 6, did the 4 guys coming back never do anything????

I just quickly added up the pts of the ork player, if having basic war gear it adds up to 1020, thats:

30 boys 180 pts + 10pts nob, + 10pts 2x big shootas
30 boys 180 pts + 10pts nob, + 10pts 2x big shootas

10 nobs 200pts (if they are all the AoBR then no added pts really)
10 nobs 200pts

warboss 60pts, +25pts PK

3 deffkopters at 105 pts, + 30 pts 3x RL

hmmm doubtfull that SW army adds up to roughly the same as the ork one, seems like a bit of self biggin up is goin on here.
