I collect Iron warriors and was thinking of adding a Daemon prince to my army list and I started thinking which one to choose?

I could get the old metal one or the new plastic one. The thing is I don't know which fits better for IW. also the metal one is €1 cheaper

The metal one. It's inherently CSM, while the other one is inherently daemons.

The plastic one is fugly as gak too. All of the heads on the sprue are crap, and the pose is slowed. It's like he's saying "ooh, look how scary I am!", while the metal one is saying "I'll rip your fething head off"

I concurr. I have both models and there's something just not quite right about the plastic one. The metal one is pretty baller though. I hear that the metal one is a bit of a pain to paint though.

He is The right leg is basically inaccessible, and it takes some careful positioning to get it. Same with the underside of his left arm. But all models have those sort of problems.

I generally like plastic better because its easier to convert and personalize, but in this case the metal model is just so much more badass than the plastic one. So I would buy the metal one, even though its going to look like everyone elses Demon prince.

are there any simple conversions that can be done to the metal DP to make it look individual?

There was an old White Dwarf Article on Daemon Prince Masterclass, including a conversion of the metal prince into an Iron Warrior's prince with Wings, and it looked pretty badass. It used to be in the White Dwarf Archives, but I cant seem to find it anymore =(

One of the heads on the plastic one is ok, but I agree that it looks more appropriate for a Daemon army than a CSM one. I don't get why so many hands for chaos stuff have longer middle fingers. It's incredibly immature and stupid.

The Plastic one is made to fulfill three different armies: CSM, Warriors of Chaos, and Daemons. It does a good job of filling the Daemon and Warriors of Chaos aspect, but they lack the iconic boots and backpack shape of the CSM ones. The Metal one looks like an upsized CSM Lord (indeed it was once used as a conversion for a 40mm Inquisitor Chaos Space marine once because of that) while the plastic one looks like a Daemon with CSM armor tacked on.
