It would help to know what your playstyle is and what kind of army you want to play, shooty, assault, mech, ect ect

Well, Necrons have the oldest codex and have a trouble with 5th... So I've read... But anyway, as above, it does depend on your play-style, Marines are a good start, and you can learn to play most types of lists (bar horde), in this way. GO RUN ONS!!!!!

Other Dreadnaughts should just go somewhere and be a toaster.

Mattieu~~~~ It's not that eldar are bad, it's that they require a lot of intergration between units. Also, that doesnt prove anything other than GW has a huge hard-on for marines, and, given the option between making a xeno the best psykers or making a marine the best psyker, they will 9 times out of 10 choose the marine.

Ok, i like most types of playstyle. Im not too keen on weak infantry but there not a big problem though. I like elites. Shooting and Mech are nice aswell but i like to be different (I.e: not space marines). I really like MC as well. Im not very good at painting.

Judging by what you just said then it would be pretty much down to Eldar, Dark Eldar, Tyranids or Imperial Guard.

Just go with the one you like the look of the best as you'll have to build and paint a decent amount of them and see them every time you play a game.

A Warrior based Tyranid army would suit your playstyle, with some MCs backing up your units, however, after some experience, Deldar seem to meet your parameters well.

After selling most of my army to my friends and Ebay, i still have some Nids left. I started to look at them again and they do look ausome. What are your verdict on raveners? Worse save then warriors but more attacks?

Ol' Blighty

as far as I know, Raveners are basically DSing warriors. quite pricey though.

I like raveners *dodging daemonhammer for the fifth time this month*.

They draw A LOT of fire. Yes, they are expensive points wise, but have their own uses. They have a 12" assault range which is quite nice, and I always equip them with rending claws. Sure, they are expensive, sure, they get killed by walkers, but they are just too fun, being about equally effective against MeQs and GeQs, I often take them in squads of 5-6, occasionally one massive squad of 9, which generally has at least 4-5 surviving members if they DS well.

They are a bit of a gamble, but can pay off.

Personally I'd go straight for Space Wolves, but that's the converter side of me talking. Failing that, Dark Eldar for the same reason.

I was thinking of getting a squad of 6, saying DS all goes well and they all have thorax mounted spinefists thats on average 12 dead GEQS with just there shooting attacks. Could any one give me any ideas on special units to take I.e: biovors, lictors, pyrovores ect. ect.

Biovores are excellent against GEQs, but should be used in batteries of 3. Due to Multiple Barrage rules, only the first template scatters, while the other three will be placed next to it (so you can manipulate the location to a degree). The profile is perfect against GEQ enemies, and performs respectably against MEQs. And remember, being a Barrage weapon means that cover saves are based on the point of impact, not where the Biovore is.

Lictors and Pyrovores are rather useless. The Former has no clear use other than being a DS marker, which the Trygon can do just as well while still killing things. Pyrovores can be useful, but you'd have to run them up into the enemy, fire once, assault, and hope that you get alot of wounds off by being killed and using the acidic blood biomorph. Both also occupy Elite Slots, which are much better used by Hive Guards, Doom and Zoanthropes. HGs provide much needed anti-light-vehicle fire, while Zoanthropes can pop heavy transports and MEQs easily. Doom is good against hordes, filling out all three needs quite nicely.
