Let's say some cheesy SOB wanted to take Al'Rahem with an Infantry platoon with some Chimera transports. That's not the cheesy part.
Now let's say that cheesy SOB wanted to deploy the Infantry squads as a blob and not in their Chimeras (for which he has another use in mind). Where/when would the Chimeras enter from reserve? Would they have to reserve?

The ENTIRE Platoon must Outflank. They may combine squads together and have empty Chimeras but all of them must Outflank.

To put it simply, Al'Rahem and his entire platoon outflank. This includes the Chimeras as they are purchased for Al'Rahem's platoon and as such, must outflank as her his Stalk the Enemy rules.
Now if you want to use that tactic, then feel free to buy another infantry platoon or other figures that have chimera dedicated transports and then have them get in the chimeras turn 1 (as they cannot start in the transport.
Just out of curiosity, what was the tactic? Was it the flamer rush?
Side note, but using the sisters and IG together as allies is not allowed due to GW taking out the allies section of the sisters codex. If you happen to have a physical copy then I have heard that it is rules legal, but I'm not too sure how that works out when a more current codex is available for download.

Not true at all! So long as you have a copy of the allying rules, you can bring them along. Don't try to kill my sisters army before their time!

Witch Hunters can take the platoon upgrades, including Al'Rahem and Chenkov. It's in the most recent Witch Hunter FAQ.
I did mean the other kind of SOB, but it was a little private joke. I was actually thinking of putting Inquisitorial Storm Troopers in the Chimeras.
For what it's worth, I would think this would be treated like other units that can outflank and have transports; that is, the transport must enter on the player's board edge if the squad isn't inside.
I can see that isn't the commonly held view, so i won't try it. Now THAT you can not due. A dedicated transport has to enter the table either with the squad it was purchased for inside, or empty. You can't buy a dedicated transport for a PIS then have it come on with some Inquisitorial Storm Troopers inside. You can have the stormies get in once both units are on the table, but that's it.
And as everyone else has said, all units in Al'Rahem's platoon MUST outflank. You can't pick and choose, everything must outflank.

Where then in the PDfs for WH or DH are the rules for allying then, or is it another FAQs? I am genuinely curious as I have IG and WH and I would love to use them again but have read several people stating that players cannot play them unless they are using outdated (now that the new codicies are online in PDF format). I was under the impression that if it was not in the codex, you could not use them.
Edit: BTW, I love my sisters, I need to start using them again!!

the only thing the PDFs "Changed" is omitting the scenarios(that cannot even be used in 5th) and the allies rules.
iof the 2 the only thing that would have an in-game effect(were these "stealth reprints") would be the omission of the allies rules.
If the PDFs were a "stealth reprint" (like the 2nd printing old DE dex, or Necron Dex) then the other inconsequential/broken rules in the DH/WH PDFs would also have been corrected. Since DH/WH still have "Slain outright" Force weapons, Unlimited Ranged Psychic Hoods, and daemon rules(for Grey Knights) that don't mean anything... it really is not a "Stealth reprint", but more of a Pdf version that is saving space.
Also I recall(possibly incorrectly) that when the PDFs were announced on "what's new today" they flat stated that the Pdfs do not invalidate the Paper Dexes.
Pbzw7z: while the Outfank rules do follow what you say; that is because dedicated transports can normally only gain outflank via the squad they are bought for having Scouts/infiltrate; Al'Rahem's special rule is entirely different, Chimeras bought for his platoon Squads(infantry or command) are in fact a part of his squad and therefore must outflank whether the purchasing squad is in them or not(the Chimeras themselves gain "Outflank" as a rule by virtue of being part of his platoon, not because the squad that bought them grants it while they are embarked).

Thanks for pointing that out Mannahnin. Again, I wasnt trying to challenge but better verify so that I have a leg to stand on with regards to rules discussions and my friends. For the longest time another friend and I had a dispute about whether or not the company command squad was one or two kill points after the fifth edition codex came out for the Imperial Guard. There was an entry in the 1.0 FAQ stating the CCS and the PCS were two kill points because the Platoon Commander and the Company Comander were ICs when the squad was down to just those figures, but in the 5th edition codex the figures were not listed as IC. Now I have somewhere to go. Thanks

Actually it was worse than that - it listed ICs that no longer existed in the codex, as the PCS commanders "rank" changed between 4th and 5th.

One of Kommisar Kel's statements was right, and another was wrong.
The Chimerae in Al Rahem's platoon do gain Outflank due to being part of his platoon.
But they are NOT, in any sense, part of any squad.
