I've been painting since May of '09 when I just said "I'm 30, why the hell can't I spend some of my hard earned money on some damn Orks with badass guns?!?!"

I started with the Assault on Black Reach set and it took a long time to get all those green skins painted (see my gallery for Orky pictures taken with a bad camera). Once I got 750 points worth of Orks assembled/painted I played a few games. I liked how they worked, no real surprising mechanics, and won a few...but also lost a fair bit.

Eventually I realized that I was spending far too much time painting boyz only to have them die within seconds of hitting the table...by design. I could have then moved to a more elite Warhammer 40k army but my club had been playing this other game called Warmachine. After much navel gazing and army investigation I chose a force that was THE EXACT OPPOSITE of Orks, Cygnar. I quickly grew to love the detailed models, small figure counts, and the idea that I could have a full 35 point army with 11 models. Warmachine also caused my painting skills to explode since each model is important and deserving of time and care...meaning if you screw up a face you'll have to keep looking at that screwup through the whole damn game.

I'm still painting Cygnar, love those blue bastards, and have moved from the starter box into a more thematic army with eNemo at it's helm.

I've also been painting Tyranids...well...um...they're just cool ok! DON'T JUDGE ME!!!!!

But enough TLDR, this thread will be the place I show off old and new painting projects, here are a few:

They look really good, you might want to look at washes to smooth your colours but if not they look great anyway. If this is going to be an ongoing thing, you might want to start a blog about it over in the P&M Blogs forum.

Okay, I've been on a bit of a hiatus 2011-14

Currently working on my Riot Guard.

Some very nice stuff you have there. Ysala and Darkness look especially good.

So I was working on a gift for my wife and embarked on a "secret project"

Since she's now received the gift with giggly glee I can share it with everyone. Without further text I present the Kirai Malifaux box set fully painted and based:

It's been a bit since I posted an update on this thread but I've been regaining some sanity points by working on more Malifaux.

I present Marcus and his burning hand!

The base needs flocking and some refinement.
