So I have a Chaos rhino that has just been brought back into the arms of the Imperium, I had removed all the chaos symbols and slapped on an Aquila good thing it hadn't been painted yet, but is it playable as an Imperial rhino? I am not quite sure if there are any differences between the chaos rhino and the Imperial one. Instead of having a pintle mounted storm bolter it now has a heavy melta gun from a landspeeder kit is this ok to do? or am I going to have to find or make a storm bolter to replace it with? I do plan on enlisting this rhino with my Blood Angels army and using it.

JK, its fine, other than the spikes its no different to an Imperial rhino

not sure about the melter, you'll need to look through the codex for that

I can't I sold my entire army including my codexes and my rule book I'm starting my army over I only have my original tactical squad which were the first marines I had ever painted, well those and another tac squad, a command squad, a commander, a biker chaplain, and a landspeeder and now this rhino if its codex appropriate

I'm fairly sure rhinos can't have multi-meltas...other than that, if it's rhino-shaped, you can use it as rhino.

You could call it a razorback with a multi-melta. (That is a variant allowed in the Imperial Armor list).

i presume you have a couple of spare bolters? Glue them together to form a storm bolter and replace the melta gun

Back to the original question, presuming the original modeller didn't stick on any bits with Chaos symbols, you're fine to use it as a loyalist rhino - both kits share the basic rhino sprues.

Just say the Meltergun is out of power cells and one of the crewmen is firing his Bolter with extra passion from one of the frontal roof hatches. :p

Unless you're willing to shell out for IA books, just take off the multimelta and craft yourself a storm bolter
You can do it several ways
mash two bolters together
use a terminator's stormbolter
Snipe one from a commander's frame
See if anybody you play with has a spare strombolter form a rhino kit

I think thats fine, as long as you remove all of the chaos components to the model.
